This is my dog when she was just a pup, sleeping with her first and favorite toy...

...and here's one when I thought for a half-second she was dead. She still sleeps with her tongue hanging out when she's really tired, and will snore up a storm as well.

Great shot; I'm also glad to see he's not letting the bum back legs slow him down!

He jumped off that side wall into the sand right after that shot. You can't see it, but it's about an 18" drop.

Love your dog as a pup, so cute.

Which for a dog of his size is more like an 18' drop - what an adorable dummy. And thanks; she was quite the handful when she was little.

This fella had a bad day. Vet found a lump below his neck which he said "didn't look good". (Thanks for the vague, ominous warning, veterinarian of the year!) He's going under the knife Wednesday to have it removed and have a biopsy done. My heart sank when my dad told me. Fingers crossed for Charles, everyone.

The idiot employed with caring for my dog while I was away only lasted three days before outright losing him. Received a voicemail lead in Santa Ana from a hopefully non-scammer last night, so we’ll see. Not the most flattering of photos, but he’s a good lil pooch.

    1. Your dog sitter lost him?
    and
    2. Who are these scammers you speak of? Do people seriously try to give you dogs back that aren't yours? Or pretend to hold him for ransom?
    and
    3. Good luck

Yes. It was either stick him in a large backyard with this dog "sitter" (i.e. sitting on their ass watching TV while the dog is running down the street) or have him at the Vet in an inhumane crate. Should have choose the crate.
    Yes.
    Thanks.

I always board my dogs. The people at the kennel are really nice and take good care of them. It's expensive though.

The cost was about the same ($23 vs. $28 a day after discounts), but obviously made the wrong choice.

I'm always afraid of having someone dog-sit, especially if they don't have a dog themselves. I couldn't imagine hiring a punk ass teenage babysitter to watch my kid (if I had one).

Two ruptured discs. It happened in Feb, he was in a lot of pain, he ended up having surgery to fix it with a 50/50 that he walk again. He's had everything from water therapy to acupuncture. Nothing really got his legs moving until he started doing laser therapy 3 months ago. The docs said if there was no improvement 6 months after that that's all we will get out of him but with the laser therapy his major improvements started at 8 months after the injury.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Our Pug had the same surgery almost 3 years ago. He was basically paralyzed and moved around like your pup in the video. We took him to physical therapy including water treadmill/swim therapy/and we continue to take him to acupuncture twice a month. We took him to physical therapy for almost two years. He gets around ok these days and no longer drags his back legs when he walks but we only allow him to walk on carpet or grass. In our experience the physical therapy and water treadmill worked the best for him, it seemed like with the water treadmill he was able to gain the ability to pick his back legs up off the ground again. I have never heard heard of laser therapy but I'm going to look into it. I hope your pup continues to improve, I know how hard and heartbreaking it is to have a dog suffering from this disability. You seem like a great owner and I'm sure your bond with him will grow even stronger as you continue to care for your special needs boy

Thanks man. You should really check it out. Acupuncture was 80 a pop and didn't do anything for us. Water therapy was 30 for 30 minutes and it was okay, it got his legs and tail moving but no advancement on walking. Laser therapy gives me 6 sessions for 75 bucks so it's much cheaper and faster.
    Best of luck.

that reminds me of the golden retriever I had 10 years ago. We bought him as a pup then all of a sudden a week or two later he couldn't walk, vets said he had some rare bone disorder and he was growing too fast. One day about 8 months later we saw him in the backyard jumping to get apples from the tree, it was the damnedest thing. Don't give up hope!
