gelato is so incredibly delicious.
If you're not moved by Karma Police, you have no soul.
Same goes for A Day In The Life, for whoever said they don't like The Beatles. And I haven't heard the "I'm rich but sad" complaint about Nirvana in a long time, still don't really understand it. They weren't always rich. You think a suicidally depressed heroin addict is going to perk up just because he got rich? Ever noticed that rich people aren't particularly happier than other people?
Bill Gates looks to be pretty happy. /devil's advocate

A green plastic watering can
For a fake chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself
It wears her out, it wears her out
It wears her out, it wears her out
She lives with a broken man
A cracked polystyrene man
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
On girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins
And it wears him out, it wears him out
It wears him out, it wears him out
She looks like the real thing
She tastes like the real thing
My fake plastic love
But I can't help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run
And it wears me out, it wears me out
It wears me out, it wears me out
And if I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time, all the time
This song made me love Radiohead even though i was only 7. Other all time favorite band Nirvana, i was influenced by my older cousin.
you guys, im not trying to get attention...
i just haven't ever gotten into Radiohead and i wanted to see what a fan's argument for them would be. cuz it seems to me like people drool head-over-heels for them, i just wanted to know why. i dont actually think they suck...i just thought this would be the best way to get an argument in defense of this band.
consider this question:
whats so great about them?
their lyrics, the unbelieveable atmosphere at their concerts, the actual music, many more things. They don't create fake emotion through their music.
I just read through all of supre's questions, and this one struck me:
I admit I actually liked Coldplay less when Chris Martin married Gwyneth. Damn sell-outs.Do you like Coldplay more cause Chris Martin has a hot wife?
*sigh*

I still get emotional about Paranoid Android and Electioneering.
this sentence alone destroys all twelve years of any public education you might have received.
assuming you finished.
and yet we still wonder why the smart people aren't breeding as fast as the wal mart set. who wants to bring up kids in a world where sentences like this are allowed to exist? so depressing. really.
Radiohead is still one of my favorite bands.
They are one of the few bands who have always pushed the boundaries of "mainstream" music and have never rested on their laurels by putting out the same crap every release (Hail to the Thief excepted, but that's another argument...) instead challenging their fanbase by changing their sound and putting out records that take time to appreciate. You could pick 2-3 records of theirs and not only argue that they belong in the top 10 record pantheon but never fail to send shivers down my spine...
Now, having said that, I am starting to feel that their creative output has run the course. I didn't feel the same power and emotion with Hail to the Thief that I had with all earlier records. Their last tour left much to be desired though I think they basically wanted to test out the new batch of songs on their core fanbase so they in turn booked smaller more initimate venues (which I thought would be great, but the energy didn't translate).
I will be one of the first in line to check out the new record when it comes out and I will always go see them, but I do think that we will be witnessing the remaining years of this band on the downward slope after such a glorious and beautiful uphill climb...

Much to vinylmartyr's chagrin, though I'm certain he has more pressing matters to attend to, I can't resist posting a little (or a lot) about my favorite band.
It took me two years to decide that I didn't hate Hail to the Thief as much as I thought I did. The fact remains that I still only really enjoy two or three songs on it.
As far as their new material goes it has a much greater impact on me than HTTT, especially Videotape, since I have the haunting little number Thom did for Nigel's web-television show. Others I have a great antipathy for (as I have for Karma Police and Creep) and need to be nixed or changed fundamentally in my mind. I don't know what I'll do if 4-Minute Warning appears on the album. Talk about downward spiral...
But if Piney doesn't like it he doesn't need my help. I hated Radiohead for ten years.
