I got mine for Fader.
There are 3 SXSW shows for Damon Albarn - one more TBC.
I'll go if Old Greg is going to be there.
Morrissey seems fairly intelligent, so chooses to be a twat - whereas Liam...
Woodies was fun last year - free Salt Lick BBQ and Beer. It does tend to be full of spring breakers though.
The online sales are one week after RSD. I think it is part of the contract.
Happy to pick stuff up for you lot across the pond. Will be doing it here for the first time. That reminds me, still have stuff for Mr Mack from last year.
There is a Courtney Barnett single and Joanna Gruesome are doing a split with somebody or other.
Will be experiencing the madness of Rough Trade rather than the madness of Amoeba this year.
A lot of venues will let you in without a badge/wristband in the evening for $5 or $10 bucks - but it'd get expensive to venue hop. Best just pick one place with a decent lineup and get there early.
Hardly anywhere checks. Only the big ones like Fader Fort - and the line for that is stupidly long if you don't have a wristband.
I'll give you $5 for it.
Doing one or two other things instead. Also, that lineup does not excite me in the slightest. I think Coachella booked Outkast just so they wouldn't be the only festival not to get them.
Doing both is a great way to not have to worry so much about clashes. Plus you get to see Bradford Cox crying at airports.
Bullshit because they don't share it online first? They wouldn't put the date on the website and then tell everyone the day after.
You can't beat balls dropping on your face.
Bad enough that I don't get the option to hide these on Facebook.
Arcade Fire wont be at Porto, but not because of those dates (Thu 5th would be do-able).
Not everywhere outside of America = same level of fame.
You can get into most of the conference stuff with an artist wristband. Quick, form a band.
The SXSW app is pretty good. Lists all the events and what credentials you need to get in.
Yeah - unfortunately.
Oh yes I am.
Jarvis. Hope he plays some tunes.
Yeah - Foals are pretty big here.
Might do the weekly instalment thing again and decide closer to the time.
There will be an ATP in London, so there's always that.
Book with Tap rather than Ryanair - don't charge extra for luggage, and you end up on a plane full of people in bands playing both fests.
The shows on Wed will be free, but you had to apply for...
They did some at 150 and they sold out straight away. Now they have more at 250 and you get some other shizzle (welcome pack etc) - plus they have a whole new VIP area to fill.
The ins and outs come in really handy as there is a really good tapas bar that not many know about just opposite the venue (but not in the direction the crowds come from).
VIP is worth it if you...
Paus were amazing at Porto last year.
20 minute wait. Life can be so hard.
40, according to their twitter.
They should have at least booked Holy Holy. Closest they'll ever get to booking Bowie, having the one surviving Spider from Mars rocking the Polo fields.
Pitchfork Paris. Hot Dogs and Donuts. No other options. No in and out of the fest. If there is a worse one out there I'd be flabbergasted.
If dull Radiohead pastiche = awesome, then yes.
Set quality will pretty much depend on what/how many drugs he takes before the set. Will be great or a car crash. There is no middle ground.
Go see Syd Arthur - like a really shitty dull version of Radiohead. (IE exactly like Radiohead)
One of the biggest crowds I've ever seen at the Outdoor. Why the fuck would they ask him back? Goldenfail!
Is he still a Nazi?
They are based in London, and a friend does their live bookings - so I've seen them quite a few times. Great live.
DO NOT MISS! One of my absolute fave live bands.
Everyone loves a racist.
The Primavera lineup would have come out after Coachella last year had it not been for the delay.
Massive game for them this weekend. Should be a cracker.
