1. Future Islands: They were on a whole other level this weekend, so much energy from both the band and the crowd.
2. NaS: impeccable performance given the dust storm, performed all of Illmatic plus...
Blew my mind, favorite set of the weekend for sure
Fuckkkk it would've been cool to see Aziz.
I didn't actually meet but I saw a bunch of random celebrities:
And I'm pretty sure...
First half of Outkast
The Sahara crowd
The guy who decided to make future a special guest.
It's hard to be underwhelmed when you're such a huge fan, but I was very close to that last night with all the production errors.
Also, was I the only one waiting for Bun B to come out to perform...
I can see them booking Kendrick Lamar to help sell tickets.
I'd love this.
Looks like OSL will have its first repeat headliner this year.
The other two have already been mentioned a bunch of times.
I'd be pumped to see David Byrne, but I'd prefer it if Black Keys went through another album cycle before returning to GG Park.
It means they may have to use airplanes.
Kanye West - Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band - The Killers
Tiesto - Foster the People - Massive Attack - Arctic Monkeys
Modest Mouse - Disclosure - D'Angelo - Ray LaMontagne
I'm always interested in who APE ends up booking for their Twin Peaks closers. It's usually 2 EDM acts and a band, so who do you think it'll be this year?
I'd hope to see:
Fri - Disclosure
I think they'll get The National as one of the headliners. After the Shrine show and no Coachella appearance it'd make sense.
I'm sure the pilots were thrilled to be blinded by a guitar
Fucking finally. I'm gonna lose my mind seeing this at the polo fields.
Yeah, I mean, they just haven't performed together in over a decade when they released Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (you know, that grammy winning Diamond-certified double album they put out?)....
This makes it more likely for him to play in Europe, and less likely that you have a brain.
Hell yes. Would they be 2nd line subs?
Dafuq? I always thought Kvnty was a girl, then again I read GuyInTucson's posts in Ron Swanson's voice.
I really need to stop taking these avatars so seriously.
The title of this thread really says it all, they were fucking spectacular at The Independent tonight. I'd definitely see them again on the polo fields.
Youve seen a few shitty bands or just a few shows in general?
I still have no idea why they were billed between Capital Cities and AFI at NSSN, but more of a reason to think they don't have much of a chance to headline in 2014.
I'm sure GV can get them, they just choose not to.
I've been thinking the same thing recently, getting to be too good.
I'm almost positive we'll get Outkast, but the muthafuckin Fugees need to happen already.
No idea why I haven't seen them yet, totally support this.
I was happy with the idea that Boards of Canada, the Knife, or maybe even Royksopp may play with this recent news. But the thought of them all being on the lineup next year is mind blowing.
Yeah, ending that sentence with "that's all I'm sayin'." totally keeps you from looking like a racist prick.
I love waking up to a warm bowl of Oatkast in the morning.
He'll be too busy headlining to sub-headline.
I wouldn't go as far to say MOST significant. It was huge to get them all together but Stone Roses haven't played a show since 1995, and even Postal Service haven't performed since '04.
The size of this photo doesn't express how much it would mean to see him and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Signed.
So 2013 brought us Stone Roses, J5, and The Postal Service reunions, who do you think they'll book for 2014?
Boards of Canada
I'm thinking it's finally time Outkast headlines, and if not I'm down for just Andre 3000 as a subheader
Other hopefuls are:
Missy Elliot & Timbaland
Chance the Rapper
I originally thought they'd be 1st sub, but the fact that they're co-headlining a tour with NIN really changed it up for me. I don't think NIN and QOTSA could both play in 2014 unless both of them...
Dont really know if it's been broughten up yet, but can QOTSA headline? I know some people say that they'd co-headline a night with NIN, but with a new album and the fact that they're from Palm...
I'll just leave this here...
El Rey & Mayan are GV venues and we're still about 7 months out, so maybe it's not a lock but it's pretty damn likely.
No 2014 So-Cal dates for Pixies, I'd say that's a lock.
10-08 Berlin, Germany - Huxleys
10-10 Prague, Czech Republic - Lucerna Music Hall
Depeche Mode • Foo Fighters
Nine Inch Nails
Atoms for Peace
Tears for Fears
Boards of Canada
He'd fit better at Roo, and if that ever happens, I'd hope he plays in the Superjam.
"Come Save Me" actually got some Bay Area radio play one night on Live 105, looking forward to seeing them at Rickshaw Stop.
Animal Collective confirmed on Instagram this morning
Switch out Skrillex w/ Atoms for Peace, and add Pet Shop Boys somewhere on the bill.
This needs to happen, and I really don't see a better place then at Coachella tbqh.
Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but Avett Brothers may be a strong possibility for an add on. Playing in WA on Friday Aug. 9th, and they've never played OSL. Bottlerock seems like the only reason...
I'm going to have to say The Cure/Prince/Paul McCartney
Phoenix/Green Day/Yeah Yeah Yeahs as the early headliners
