Forget about hurricanes and beignets, you'll be in walking distance to po boys and craft beer.
I'm usually the biggest voodoo hater in town. Looks like I might actually go this year.

They were outstanding at moogfest. I'm totally on board for this. Here is the recording of their moogfest set.. http://www.npr.org/event/music/163243273/disclosure-in-concert-moogfest-2012
Yeah dude, his set was awesome.,I loved that amen break stuff he busted out at the end too.
What an amazing weekend.. Everyone I saw was incredible but Pantha Du Prince and Prefuse 73 were the highlights of the festival for me.
Would anyone mind donating some floor space for me and a friend Thursday night? We will be getting in a night earlier than we planned and only booked rooms for friday and saturday night. We will have...
Yeah, the 7 o clock start makes things more difficult, now they have to squeeze all of that into 7 hours. Plus with all the extra time to kill its going to be a chore to not be totally shit faced by...
Schedule is up. Not many conflicts on my end. How's everyone else looking?
Bad news. Mouse On Mars is out.
Got mine, missed the presale, but was still able to get tier 1 pricing. Can't wait for this one.
Scratch that, just called. They're booked.
I'm wondering the same thing. I'm thinking about Sweet Peas Hostel, it's walking distance, reasonably priced, and on top of a brewery. Downside is a lack of privacy, a noise curfew and no alcohol...
Mine too, awesome track.
Tom... Its going to be awesome, you should come.
I'm pretty happy with this. On top of our previous confirmations we get Actress, Mouse on Mars, Four Tet and Explosions in the Sky. And for $100 for the weekend? I'm sold.
Line up is up..
I don't know.. They are on that side of the country and their tour schedule is wide open that weekend.
Noticed the other day that Pollstar lists Kid Koala for Voodoo Fest, but I haven't found any other sources to confirm this. If he does play Voodoo, I'd assume he'd be likely for Moog.
That sucks, I was hoping for John Talabot.
From Prefuse73's facebook regarding the video moog posted.. ”Hints' that I'll be somewhere in: Asheville, N.C. with Teebs on: Oct.25/26.2k12_more to come...”
Looks like we can count Teebs in....
Black Moth Super Rainbow just released a bunch of tour dates. They look like a pretty good possibility.
Just keeps getting better.
I'm with you on that. Their schedule is conveniently wide open for the 26th-27th. Seems likely.
I'm getting pumped for this lineup. Keeping my fingers crossed for some witch housey artists like Balam Acab, oOoOO or Holy Other or something along those lines. Make it happen Moog.
I'm taking it as one. He has no shows listed for that weekend, then works his way up the east coast a few days after the festival. Them shits is happening.
It's beyond terrible. They take no big risks by booking a bunch of acts that have already played in new orleans within the last few years. Then fill the bottom tier with local acts and djs like...
There has been so much great electronic music this year. I'm really excited to see who they book. My only prediction so far is squarepusher.
Its kind of disappointing dude. I live within walking distance and haven't been in years.
I don't think it had much to do with the weather. Fridays usually just seem less crowded. After all, it is a work/school day. A lot of people that go don't have to travel across the country and can...
I posted something in the canned beer thread about wanting to set up some sort of meet up where we can get together and share our favorite local breweries in a tasting kind of format, but didn't...
So I'll be bringing at least a case worth of beers available here in the New Orleans market to weekend 2. It'd be cool if we could arrange some kind of meet to swap/show off/taste each other's local...
i volunteer at nola brewing on my days off, the brown is awesome, i can hook you up for sure. i would also recommend their hopitoulas ipa. i'm not a fan of abita though. the strawberry is all you'll...
so, its american craft beer week down here right now.. chose to attend the stone tasting tonight at the bulldog in mid city. the tasting entailed the ipa and arrogant bastard only.. weak. atleast i...
don't mean to butt in.. but... if you're interested in some southern market beers i'm down to trade. our scene is hurting, but we do have some good regional stuff..
be sure to age some of those. i'm sitting on 08 through 10. going to try to hold onto them as long as possible.
just got home from the mikkeller tasting. my favorite might have changed to the chinook. although the centennial and simcoe were also pretty damn good. also had the pleasure of enjoying the brooklyn...
mikkeller tastings are probably somewhat rare because of the price of each bottle. try getting on a few mailing lists for your top beer spots out there. i'm sure you'll hear about one soon enough,...
we're having a mikkeller ipa series tasting here in new orleans tomorrow night. it's a small event, 1st 20 people get in. i'm hoping i'm one of the lucky ones. simcoe is my current favorite out of...
i've been hesitant on shelling out craft beer prices for canned beer, because i'm apparently brainwashed by society or whatever.. anywho, i decided to give it a shot this weekend with southern star...
according to uno lakefront arena newsletter,
"On Sale: Saturday, May 15 10:00am

i live about 5 minutes from the venue, but am currently on house...
i'm pretty sure ticketmaster does lakefront events. it'll probably pop up in the next day or two.
came across a mexican craft beer just in time for cinco de mayo. i'm excited.

sucks about the shit weather, hopefully it was enough of a success to convince promoters to get more electronic acts. we don't get enough down here.
daft punk would be interesting.. did justice go over well last year?

i saw that recently at the pub and was wondering what that was all about.. whats the alcohol content?
made some nice additions to my fridge this week. he'brew brewing made its way down here, so i picked up the lenny's bittersweet r.i.p.a. it was very tasty. also got their 13th anniversary...
i was at st charles ave pub here in new orleans the other night, and they had a double dry hopped ipa by stone. as told to me by the bartender, stone put out 5 kegs only and sent each out to...
i'm excited, i didnt get to go last year. crossing my fingers for flying lotus, but not holding my breath.
