Got tickets to see 3 of the 5 UK dates they're playing! :)
Little fill in....right. They're from the Sacramento scene that gave us Deftones, Will Haven, Tinfed etc. Were at their peak in the mid...
Yeah you might be right. When Mum played this year, there were parts of their set that are really quiet and delicate and all you could hear was whoever was on in the next tent...i think it was some...
Can't find any posts mentioning her playing at Coachella anywhere on here, and I don't think she's ever played one before. Her new album's just come out and I think her music on any of her albums...
how come Deftones got way more stick for the "Deftones for Coachella 09" thread, when they're about a gazillion lightyears away from the kind of stale pap that Disturbed peddle!
oh well...back to...
wow...didnt think people were still calling Deftones nu-metal! seems a bit silly calling them that really. they sound nothing like all the bands that were tagged nu-metal in the 90's. I guess it's...
bunch of us are driving to Vegas on the 22nd for a couple of nights then driving to coachella on the Thursday to get a good spot and check out the laserium show! Pretty excited about vegas though cos...
this whole thread just sounds like
-L&R are good
-No, L&R are rubbish
-No, L&R are good
-No, L&R are rubbish
:) just sayin...
carry on
they are only one line reviews after all, and if anyone here decides to go/or not to go and see a band based solely on this one line review, well...they deserve to be disappointed!!
Thanks for the...
i agree that coachella probably isnt the sort of festival for stuff like this...there's probably a small section of people who go a bit crazier than everyone else, but on the whole it was a more...
what, still no new additions!!???
:)
good to see that all the complaining seems to have stopped. i'm really starting to look forward to seeing some of the smaller bands and to just be there. i fucking enjoyed last years so much, not...
who are these weird ass europeans that no-one's heard of? Surely you can't be on about the guy from Pink Floyd...? yeah, cos they were a real underground thing weren't they!
Aaaanyway...i didn't...
Enter Shikari & Dragonforce sound nothing like each other so you can't really compare the 2. I'm not defending either band..just saying.
Also, the difference between these and "every other...
they apparently work better live than on album. i got pretty bored of the album myself. if they wanted to put a heavier band on, there's a hundred better bands than Enter Shikari. hey ho though, they...
yeah, i reckong this should be a sticky thread! the poster's hard enough to read anyway, let alone scan it for changes every day! Hooray for this thread!
Is 29 young? i like to think it is :) well, I've been into guitar music since i was 12 or something and have never come across these guys...dont think they were ever very big over here to be honest....
i dont blame you...if there was a festival close to me with loads of bands id already seen, i wouldnt bother going...hey, fancy a festival swap? you come to UK for one of our mudfests?? :)
here's one way of looking at it...if you've been friends with someone for years and they make a big mistake, you don't just fall out with them straight away and start slagging them off...you forgive...
Just discovered Austin TV from the links page here and they're really good. Go check em out now. If you're into Dredg, you'll kinda like where these guys are coming from
oh, and minus the bear...
hehe....good comeback Jonny
completely agree with what you say though...after I got over there not being any headliners who I'm crazy about, I'm now working my way through the links on this site...
seems that there's a lot of bands that ive not heard of which is good, because i like surprises...:) also, I'm now excited about who will be announced over the coming months...i remember checking the...
check out Dredg...they're perfect for the desert! Their kinda proggy, kinda poppy, kinda rocky, kinda dreamy....will be wicked at coachella.
also...minus the bear will be awesome too!
4 of us are still going. I think we were always going despite the line-up cos, if i'm honest, it's nice not having loads and loads of bands that you're desperate to see, cos you don't stress about...
i'd have classed those sort of bands as middle of the road fare to be honest. i wouldnt have watched any of them if they'd have been playing. i would've liked better headliners, but it's gonna be fun...
dredg will definitely put on an amazing live show. seen em twice and once they blew glassjaw off stage! pendulum will be good too if they play a live set. and enter shikari will rock, but that...
yeah, sadly i can still make out the bands. it is hard to read though. is the writing smaller than last year, or is it just because the headliners ruin the whole poster! :)
oh, and the poster's on the mainpage now :(
I think Jack Johnson might make it rain :)
seriously though, I know a lot of us are pissed, but on the bright side, we're going to appreciate the newly added bands between now and April...all they...
i wont be spending 450 quid on flights either...not when they're £350! :)
despite it being below average, we'll still go...cos it's not just about the bands...i had loads of fun just wandering...
Even though I only really watched Rage out of last years headliners, it's the headline bands that set the festivals stall out. i saw the poster for this years and the names just don't jump out as...
didn't they say that GV had something up there sleeves last year...even right up to the week before...but nothing happened.
like a lot of you, i'm semi-excited, but until i see the poster on the...
never really been into the Verve, but that aside, I still don't think they'd be a great headliner...bit too dull for the desert!
looks like there are details on the LA Times website but when i click the link nothing happens
here
does that mean they're still updating it or something, or is it just my internet at work...
After only knowing UK festivals where you get a wristband to get into the venue section from the campsite and you can come and go as you please. It would just be nice to be able to get back to your...
Last year was my 1st year, and I'm going again this year. I'm eager to find out who's playing, but to be honest, I'd go regardless of the lineup (within reason) cos it was just such a great festival...
I reckon jonah would make a pretty good addition to the Coachella lineup. He'd be good in one of the tents. not sure if he's into the whole festival thing though.
anyone know if he's played at...
in answer to someones earlier post. dredg havent broke up. they're recording a new album and according to their myspace, they're looking like they're gonna be on at next years Coachella.
i'd loev...
Probably a stupid question, but will we have to wait to buy our camping passes until tickets go on general sale? also, do you think that we'll have an option of buying tickets before general release?...
i hope this talk of dredg is true. saw them play here in the UK with glassjaw and they blew them offstage! ALl 3 dredg albums are amazing, and anyone who hasn't heard them, or is even playing the...
yeah my email came too yesterday!!:D yay!
First off...I just want to say that there are some of us who were waiting in the sun, and didn't expect free anything, we were just glad to be there. And you may be right, we should have probably...
So has anyone from the UK looked into flights to LA next year? I've just started looking and the best I've found is £450ish from American Airlines. We flew with Virgin last year and got em for £310,...
Got my email this afternoon. What a good way to start the weekend!! And the sun seems to have come out to mark the occasion seeing as it's been shitty here in the UK virtually since we got back!
I...
Anyone flying from Heathrow to LAX this Thursday?
There's 4 of us on this flight. Would be cool to meet up with some other UK folks who are on this flight for pre flight drinks and excitement!!
...
fallout boy are okay. their albums okay. it's just pop music...i've got room in my music collection for pop music just like everything else. seems people are getting pretty agro on here about a bunch...
Look at the video for Minerva...deftones would rule in the desert. plus, when there's bands like Thrice, coheed, Circa Survive etc...Deftones would totally fit in...anyway, i thought the vibe for...
i'd heard of her but havent actually heard her stuff until recently. I've got her no album and i'ts really good. She has a really good voice. I think if you like Imogen Heap, Frou Frou, Joanna Newsom...
