You can catch an airport shuttle to Union Station and then ride the Pacific Surfliner (Amtrak) to Fullerton and then catch an Amtrak bus to Palm Springs. Its a pain in the ass, but its pretty cheap.
Can't seem myself paying $120 for a bunch of bands that so frequently come to Boston, but its a nice start. Maybe I'll volunteer and try to at least catch The Shins.
Great booking, here's hoping they don't clash with New Order. How were they at ATP? I saw Chain and the Gang open for The Rapture and wasn't very impressed, but Ian did bring the energy.
Wonder how many people will be wearing the famous money shirt Ian used to wear? Always wanted one myself, but was never willing to pay the inflated prices they go for.
Blur/The Stone Roses vs. Grinderman. If it comes down to it I'm going mainly for Blur and The Stone Roses so it'd be them, but the idea of missing Grinderman's possible last performance sucks.
And...
Really hope they play Regret, looks like they've only played it a handful of times this tour. Anyone think they'll play a tune off of their latest album? I think Californian Grass is almost a...
Never heard of them before the line-up drop, but they're tied with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for my must see on Sunday! I wonder how well they will perform after all these years.
It's coming out just in time to take advantage of the press they'll get from Coachella and their unannounced east coast tour (which will happen in may).
The billboard article states that they completed four songs as of january 2012. I'm sure they had finished the rest of the tunes over the past year. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced more...
I keep seeing the possibility of a late 2013 NA tour being thrown around... Any validity to the statements or just guess work? Either way, the new album is phenomenal!
Would love to have Primal Scream do any tour dates in America, it's a shame they didn't bring the Screamdelica tour over.
If you like the new album then definitely go. Chan started off a little weak sounding for the first two or three songs, but she really picked up by the sixth song (Manhattan, I believe) and turned it...
He said they are playing, but it hasn't been completely finalized and confirmed. I didn't bother asking him any other details about it.
Talked to Sam Brown of Divine Fits earlier today and he said they're gonna play Coachella. They played a great show tonight, hope they make it out for Coachella!
Eh, I sat on it for too long and the floor sold out. Oh well, guess there's that inevitable greatest hits tour one day...
Is it worth picking up a ticket if I'm not a big fan of their last two albums? $80 is pretty pricey...
haha thanks for sharing. I think I will pass.
what should i expect?
Are Sun o))) worth seeing? they're type of music normally isn't my thing, but my friend keeps going on about how they're the best live band out there.
Nope, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same thing Pulp did last year/this year.
The first night was incredible! Love the new arrangement for Black Math and Cut Like a Buffalo and I liked the solo stuff, but Catch Hell Blues really stole the show! I was never a big fan of that...
3 times last year, first time this year was at Coachella!
Tom, the singer, and Noel have been friends since Kasabian's debut album. Noel was probably watching side-stage and his favorite tune by them is Club Foot.
Holy shit! San Francisco you got an awesome setlist! Glad they're playing more His n Hers tunes, that way my one and only complaint with the Radio City shows.
It was HARDCORE
Alright, I have to stop because I normally hate it when people use song titles as sentences and what not haha
It was, then The Jarv showed me how to get it on yeah!
I bet Bowie sits down, after a long day of doing nothing, goes onto his computer, loads up this video on Youtube, and comments "LOL FUCKING FAIRY SHIT"
Does ASAP Rocky not tour a lot or something?
Is that why Bowie hasn't played Coachella yet? He's afraid of being laughed off stage for being a fairy.
Have some of you forgotten what a good frontman is? You'd probably laugh Bowie as Ziggy Stardust or Jagger in his prime off the stage for "prancing around like a fairy". I just feel bad for some of...
Two absolutely amazing shows! You people going to their west coast shows are lucky to have GA, it was kind of a pain dancing in-between seats. I nearly cried during Like A Friend on the first night...
I'm guessing Disco 2000 or Like a Friend, can't see any other tunes being played.
And after reading that NYT articles, I can't keep thinking about the possibility of FEELING CALLED LOVE being...
I wish she would do a headlining tour instead of support. Not a big fan of Gotye and I despise Foster the People, so I just can't justify the price to see her. :/
You went to TWoD last night too? Killer show, thanks to everyone here for convincing me to go! :) Got a little too jammy for me at times, but I liked a lot of it. And I think they opened with Baby...
Yep, looking more and more like it's gonna be TWoD now. Tried listening to Cymbals Eat Guitars last record again and I remembered how much I dislike it. Wish I saw them in 2010 considering I only...
Haha I think this response sums up all of the others. Thanks for the help everyone, I'm leaning towards The War on Drugs now but I think it's gonna be a last minute decision. The sad part is the...
Hey maybe you all could help.
Should I go to The War on Drugs or Cursive with Cymbals Eat Guitars? Both are the same price and I like all three of the bands the same amount.
lol the hate here is ridiculous and stupid.
almost as bad as this thread.
Are all waste tickets will call?
Oh, they were fine. Not White Stripes caliber, but if you like The Racs and The Dead Weather, you'll dig the new tunes.
No PJ Harvey is so disappointing. :( Guess she's not touring at all this year. Should be a fun weekend, but not worth flying out for.
It's easy enough to buy tickets now. It's like no one cares about Pulp now that they've announced a second show.
I don't know why i do this to myself, just pulled up row OO for Pulp and there's no possible way for me to get there. Damn, I'm still happy I get to see them the next night though!
Thanks for this! I think we may just wait for next year, unfortunately. Too much planning with too little time.
Sorry if this was asked before, but when did this festival sell out last year? My friend and I are thinking about going, but he can't buy tickets for at least a week or two from now. Probably gonna...
Sorry yeah, I meant this year's line up. 2010 is pretty brilliant in my eyes! Them Crooked Vultures, Air, Belle and Sebastian, Massive Attack, Ian Brown, LCD Soundsystem... Tons of good stuff.
I'm sure this has been discussed recently, but is Justice worth the money? $35 after a weak second album seems a bit steep.
The Stone Roses are enough to get me out there! I was trying to plan a trip to meet my friend who lives outside of Tokyo last year, but we eventually gave it up because we weren't too happy about the...
Unfortunately, I've only seen them twice on the Brothers tour, as they've never played in my home state and I never had the money to travel out to see them. I love them to bits, but their crowd at...
