er, nevermind then. if they've really confirmed then i'm going to update him.
seriously, i feel the same way.
edit: i trust him because i know for a fact that he does shit with them, but until something official is announced don't take my word for it
the do lab won't be at coachella this year. i have a friend who works with them and he says they're concentrating on lighting in a bottle instead...
i love spotting people who are rolling, it's hilarious. we saw this one kid sitting in the purple light maze by himself... he was just staring at a cast he had on his arm while he rubbed it really...
no, it was comfy in nautica. i wish they'd played carrots!
main stage, coachella 2008
thanks everyone, i have a ride now because people here are generally awesome.
see you at coachella!
Hey,
I'm an 18-year-old girl from L.A. (in the valley) looking for a ride to Coachella on Saturday. I can't drive but am willing to split gas money, etc.
I'm not staying for Sunday, but a ride...
kaiser chiefs' set was pretty much live--i was watching it at home and a friend called me on their mobile. the webcast was roughly 20-30 seconds slow.
zero.
i live in LA and in-n-out sucks.
oh, i didn't know that. i just noticed they changed the poster from 11:59 to END a bit before the festival started. that's cool.
it took me around 5-10 minutes each day to enter the festival... which is a huge change from the last few years. in 2004, it took like an hour in the sun (thank god for the guy who sprayed us with...
it was sarcastic, but i don't think it was about scarlett's singing or anything. it was probably about the fact that they just played their most popular song at coachella and had reunited and...
"yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah... yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah!"
what happened to the ross jarman picture of the cribs you had up there but then took down? :(
i didn't see klaxons but judging from the webcast, !!! were way better. i love klaxons and would have seen them if i went, but !!! was insane.
madam. thank you. that's my favourite new order song and i died a little when they covered it in LA when they toured here in november.
because "some people" is one of the touring band members, and being backstage before the set began, he probably knows more than you about why they were late. if he says they came on late due to...
not to be rude or anything, but i thought she sounded completely awful. i didn't know it was her, and i remember saying to my friend afterwards that the female singer was a bad choice becaues she...
it was new order's temptation. they throw it into no fit state at almost every gig. sooo good.
they were amazing.
someone post a setlist.
ron jeremy was around during tgtbatq's set... win butler and his wife were also watching from the side of the stage. but they performed (obviously).
jarvis: "but that's very pretty, that dome over there! i'll be there with my top off later on. [girls scream] oh, yeah, that's a shriek of fear, isn't it? because that would be the correct response...
i did, but i can't find my camcorder charger so i can't put the footage on my computer and it's really pissing me off. i've been looking for it for over two hours.
the good, the bad and the queen were 30-40 minutes late, but that's because the band before them (the gotan project?) played 25 minutes over their set time. i don't know if it's because they started...
does anyone have a setlist?
yes! the wind was the best bit, and damon grinned like crazy when it blew all the flags and everyone cheered. that felt so good.
the same goes with daft punk. MSTRKRFT played two daft punk songs in a row which made the crowd go crazy, and even though daft punk played in 2006 and were obviously 49850284023x better, it was still...
that sucks that air ended so early. do you know what songs they played? i heard manu chao also drowned them out a bit.
david j was so bizarre! i didn't even know it was him until later. i can't say i really enjoyed it, but it was weird and i don't regret watching him for about 15-20 minutes.
and i thought jamc...
i didn't see ratatat because i had to miss sunday (wasted a ticket), but how amazing were they?! they're so awesome live if you like to dance.
i agree. i wasn't a will caller, but a friend of mine was and he was told there would be a 3 hour wait. about an hour or so after waiting, security (or someone associated with the festival) took pity...
i didn't think they were that bad. the last two songs were fun. but yeah, i definitely prefer blur. on the other hand, i thought jarvis was brilliant, even though i also prefer pulp.
tribulations was my favourite song of the set. i wanted losing my edge too but they were still fucking awesome.
yes, they definitely weren't bad, just not as amazing as sonic youth should be live.
i thought they were okay. i loved the stuff they played off of daydream nation, but i agree that their performance was overall forgettable. bjork made me immediately forget about them, and i love...
of montreal (some)
arctic monkeys (some)
jesus and mary chain (full)
jarvis cocker (full)
interpol (some)
sonic youth (some)
bjork (full)
hot chip (full)
new pornographers (some)
those two were fucking amaaaazingggggg
they were fucking amazing, i danced the entire time.
yeah she did the backing vocals and sounded awful. she's a decent actress and i love tom waits (she's doing a cover album), but she is a horrible singer. i didn't even realise it was her until later.
apparently she tried to stand in the photo pit area at the outdoor theatre and got kicked out, haha.
i'm a girl and they barely patted me down. they didn't even touch my bag, which pissed me off because i wanted to sneak in a DSLR but chickened out last minute.
he speaks the truth, you should go. amoeba is on sunset blvd.
shut the fuck up and stop being an asshole. i'm also a poster on atease, but i'm not jumping on this person because he made a mistake. he was just trying to be helpful. get a life.
how is glastonbury not in there but reading/leeds is?!
ratatat are awesome live, if you like dancing. the guitars and keyboards are played live. the show at the henry fonda was incredible.
they played three nights in los angeles in january. i saw them twice. they're definitely worth seeing. kevin barnes is awesome.
how much did you pay?
i got a sonic youth setlist last year, and my stupid aunt tossed it in the trash while i was out of the house, because she thought it was an old piece of paper.
