Really curious how this set was. Did anybody check him out?
Seriously, nobody gives a fuck.
Gotta say, the new RHCP guitarist is absolutely holding his own. Wish Disclosure were on the live stream...
Dinosaur Jr. is sounding perfect.
Pretty sure Nick Cave has just as many people on stage as the Wu right now.
My god Raekwon got really, really dangerously fat.
Should at least be posting this shit in Daft Punk threads.

So here's the weekend 1 setlist. Looks great but no Age of Consent.... Really hoping we get that one next...
I was just thinking the same thing. Good band, but I can't see how they're subheadlining.
I agree Moby's set is looking great I really didn't know what to expect. That's the beauty of the live stream + weekend 2 combo. It'll be nice to catch one huge Sahara set.
Spiritualized is putting on an incredible performance. Do I leave Grizzly Bear early or miss the beginning of this? Oh man, decisions, decisions....
J5 is blowing my mind.
I wonder if a single person sits through Sparks -> Infected Mushroom -> Grinderman. Strange stage transition.
Tough choice but it's gotta be Grinderman, holy hell they bring it live.
I'd prefer "Stars Are Projectors" or "Trailer Trash" or something as much as the next guy, but Float On was a massive field-wide singalong. Hard to go wrong there.
I was having problems earlier but not anymore. Probably your internet.
Cowboy Dan!!! The new song "Be Brave" sounded great too.
Its going to suck to miss Jello but it's fucking Modest Mouse.
Live stream is fantastic right now. Jello Biafra's set looks like a fucking blast. Japandroids and Local Natives are great too.
I hated to see them on so late, was hoping for them to be on much earlier. It'll be hard to pass up Four Tet to see them though. They've got a bright future, so not too bummed about missing them now.
Nailed it.
I think those people tend to be there more for the experience, not as some kind of status symbol. Regardless, if you want a festival full of diehard music fans, it's probably time to look elsewhere;...

New song is great! Hoping he previews some more OLD songs at Coachella.
Your reasons for going are not any more noble than the people you're making massive generalizations about. This is a music festival people go to for fun. The elitism on this board is insane...

A lot of live versions of these songs were posted already, but this set is just fantastic from beginning to end.
#1 must-see for me.
I would love to see him do a DJ set in the new tent in addition to his live set.
I would put Raider Klan in the Gobi closing spot. Can't imagine them playing the main stage.
TNGHT
EL-P
Thee Oh Sees
Disclosure
Savages
I can't get past how awful their lyrics are.
Sticking Biffy Clyro between Action Bronson and Danny Brown makes no sense.

Sold on them after hearing the Hey Joe cover. WOW.
I don't think Twin Peaks is much bigger than the Outdoor Stage.
Their sets will sound nothing alike and I highly doubt their fanbases overlap very much.

For me, hands down this. Favorite discovery so far, they'll get me there early on Friday.
the Postal Service - Give Up
TNGHT - TNGHT EP
Purity Ring - Shrines
Divine Fits - A Thing Called Divine Fits
Diiv - Oshin
James Blake - James Blake
I really thought we'd get D'angelo....
That's very helpful, thanks for posting.
I may be in the minority, but I'm of the opinion their first album is the perfect one. Celebration Rock didn't really do it for me despite having a couple very great songs (The House that Heaven...
I could see Lou Reed and Metric switching spots. Don't think Local Natives are big enough for that slot yet.
Major Lazer going on after Hawtin and Moby seems unlikely. I would move Major Lazer down two spots (maybe below SMD as well?)
El-P opening the new stage? Is this some kind of fucking joke?
Okay, I suppose there's precedent. Until there's more info about the new stage, I'll just say Raider Klan looks very out of place with the acts we're predicting play there the rest of the weekend.
Right, I'm not positive on this, but weren't odd future originally scheduled for the dome and only put there once they blew up leading into the festival?
I'd normally say they close the Gobi but...
I can't see Mord Fustang playing anywhere except the Sahara.
If we're assuming the new stage is electronic-themed throughout the rest of the weekend, why would Raider Klan play there?
Does Danny Brown really seem like the kind of hip-hop act that's going to play the main stage? He seems much more likely in an early Gobi or maybe Mojave spot like Azaelia Banks had last year. Same...
Not to mention the band blew up in popularity with the last two albums.
Regardless, signed!
Purity Ring makes way more sense in a late night Gobi set, can't even imagine seeing them in the day time.
It's still early, but here's 11:
Modest Mouse
Dinosaur Jr.
James Blake
TNGHT
Grinderman/Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
New Order
Sigur Ros
Grizzly Bear
As someone who isn't even a big fan of their records, Sigur Ros live is incredibly captivating.
If it is somehow possible to see New Order, Grizzly Bear, the Postal Service, and Sigur Ros without conflict, I think I'll be able to put up with anything else.
