M.I.A. on the mainstage. TERRIBLE. Can't believe this ever happened.
Liking a lot of what you other guys/gals are posting.
On that note...
Would someone please book the fucking PET SHOP BOYS?
I would also go for some:
Tears for Fears (making a new album)...
Lord Huron
Jake Bugg
Biffy Clyro (3:00 - close enough)
I know this may sound lame to some, but as an "older" concert goer, a quiet or "family" camping area (not anything fancier) just for us non pot-smoking, non druggy/drinker, non partying older folk...
Best surprise of all. Don't miss them weekend 2.
Sucks either way. They were my #1 act last weekend.
Biffy was awesome, but had some issue making them start late and then got cut off. The singer was pissed off. A shame for weekend 2'ers.
I know a lot of people will not agree with this but I wasn't impressed with Violent Femmes. I know their music well and have seen them live once before in the early 90's but this time they just...
Biffy "Fucking" Clyro - Great energy, right in the front on the main stage, and played all the songs I wanted to hear.
Blur - Nothing but the hits, great crowd (no bros pushing their way in or...
Saw this one on Wed too. 2 references in a week. Its part of the mainstream now I guess.
just heard Coffee and TV from the campgrounds during their soundcheck and got really excited. I wish it was nighttime already!
Biffy Clyro
Jake Bugg (3:05 - close enough)
Did anyone else notice the large # of acts added to the event early every day?
Just scanning through I see Falcons, Moustache, You Me and Us, Abjo, Sango, Mantastique, Jumbo Jenkins and Slipping...
I can't wait! I wish they were Friday - I'm that excited. AND NO CONFLICTS! Hell yeah!
Missing Foals (mostly) because of Blur. No way I'm missing Blur.
Also don't like missing XX/TDCC/ or Franz. May jump between the 3.
Yeah
Worst day was Sunday 08. Left way early to drive home. I don't care about Roger Waters and after The Streets cancelled I was over it. Just didn't care about seeing anyone that day really.
King Krule
The Strypes
There are always bands that I go to see (especially early on in the afternoon) that I don't really know much about but in 2011 the best act I saw all weekend was the first act I saw (1:00 on Friday)....
Jake Bugg
Biffy Clyro
Palma Violets
Lord Huron
Theophilus London
That "Blur - No Distance Left to Run" Doc. is fantastic. It's been on heavy rotation at my place for a couple years now.
YES!!!!!! ADD!!! PLEASE!!!!!
We also had a mix of best and worst. Our good neighbors came with a generator and wi-fi and were more than willing to share. We returned the favor with offer of our camp shower and grill. The bad...
ALL OF THEM. Its stacked.
Um, see the thing is... FLEA PLAYS BASS. Sure, he probably can play the guitar too (he's a mean trumpet player too, FYI) but he's not likely to play either at Coachella SINCE HE'LL BE BUSY PLAYING...
11 years now. Started in 2002 and only missed 03. Camping since 2007. I live fairly close but got hooked on the camping and realized what a fool I had been for making the drive all those times before.
Hell yeah. Easily the best album of the year so far. Can't wait to see them again this year.
New Order/Grizzly Bear/Yeasayer/Biffy Clyro conflict = Go Fuck Yourself.
Hard.
Some lower-tier name. I'd be down for King Krule.
No Doubt
Depeche Mode
Arcade Fire
Paul McCartney with his son James. You know that's gonna be early in the day inside some half-full tent too. That would be great to see Macca up close.
My greatest fear is, pretty much, Friday. All of it.
I'm digging The Neighborhood. Also Lord Huron.
Having been to every Coachella in the past 10 years, I've seen a lot of them. 2010 had several of this year's performers. Grizzly Bear, Yeasayer and Phoenix come to mind right away as having been...
Stone Roses AND Blur in one night. Heavenly.
Those of you hating on James McCartney do realize he's PAUL MCCARTNEY'S son, right? I know hes not Paul, but he couldn't have fallen that far from the tree. Surely not the worst thing on this lineup.
Blur
Jake Bugg
Stone Roses
Grizzly Bear
Vampire Weekend
Band of Horses
The Lumineers
The xx
Dropkick Murphys
Local Natives
I am so excited for this guy's appearance. Anybody else feeling the same way?
BLUR!
Alabama Shakes. WTF?
Hell Fucking yeah. Well said.
Friday: Blur, Stone Roses, YYY's, Modest Mouse, How to Destroy..., Band of Horses, Beach House, Metric, Local Natives, OMM, Divine Fits, Johnny Marr, Four Tet, Alt-J, Jake Bugg, Polica, Lord Huron,...
I'm pissed - Only because I can't buy tickets and go BOTH weekends to see all the bands I'm likely to miss because of conflicts. BEST COACHELLA EVER and it's my 11th! Under card is MASSIVELY stacked.
Blur - Stone Roses - Pet Shop Boys.
Noel is not a cunt. Liam maybe, especially around Noel, but if you ever watch any interview with Noel he's really funny.
I saw US Women's Soccer Player Abby Wambach this year on weekend 1. I bet no one else knew who she was or cared.
Oingo Boingo would be great, but I don't see it happening.
And don't forget the obligatory Damon Albarn set.
