She did sound great.
I saw them right after Unlocking the Truth. Perfect to chill and cool off.
Was planning on catching this. Didn't get on the field until 2:-(
I was really far away for this. Caught a good chuck of his set. From where I was, it was just 'happy music' & good energy from the crowd around me.
I had never seen them before, but they were great as I thought they would be. Wish I could have stayed longer, but the man was complaining about the wind:-(
I caught their last two songs because of difficulties getting in. Great way to start the festivities! Jogged across the fields for this one, wished i could have seen more.
I saw the first 15 minutes or so. Not very full. Similar to what they've always done. I think they belong in the Do-Lab. It just a better fit.
The smallest crowd: It's sort of a tie between Gaba Gaba Heys & Carbon Airways, but CA was in the Sahara so it seemed like a smaller crowd.
Largest: Lana & Lorde.
So happy I saw this set. Great energy from the people around me too. He killed it and made the energy so great!
^ But they were so much fun!
Calvin Harris and Pharrell weren't they only ones that were drawing huge over flowing crowds. Lana Del Rey and Lorde did too. They aren't EDM. They are talented...
I'll try to make this. Just gave my last sequined dress to the goodwill:-( I have little Reflector masks, though.
I hurt my lower back last night from the double flying position:-( Can't see my chiropractor until Monday morning. Going to weekend one:-(
On the subject of sales people doing their job: I received a gift certificate for H&M. It was a promotional thing, therefore items bought were non-returnable/exchange. I did not save my receipt...
Really looking forward to this! Having swing danced in a while!
I don't think Nebraska would have made it on your list. I don't think it was bad, I just think it was too "cute". I like the fact that the film was about the older characters, however a lot of them...
I knew I was going to miss out. My regrets are not seeing them, Deap Valley (which was on basically the same time) and Bat for Lashes:-(
Giovani Ribisi being followed by a camera crew near the beer garden. I usually catch Paris at least once at every Coachella I've been too, not this year. I ate pizza at Danny Devito's table in 2011.
Grimes gave me a migraine and the lead singer of The Neighborhood was a little punk ass bitch who wouldn't stop talking & complaining about their time slot. I saw all of Metric because my friend...
There were so many sing-a-long songs: Maps, Zero, Hollywood Cemetery Forever, Song #2, Ball & Chain, almost everything from RHCP and New Order.
I missed them by getting in too late? Anyone see them during wknd 1 or 2?
Wish they would have played"She's So High":-( They were still great. Wknd 1
I don't know much about this band, but saw their set w/ my man who is into them (or Emily). I will say this: She's 39???!! Damn! Bitch looks beautiful! Apparently , she's short too? She doesn't...
HM: Tokyo Ska because I only caught the last two songs, HTDA for the same reason, Metric for being really solid, though I'm not really into their music.
Yes, I'm a chick. But this guy is hilarious. I'm really not into his genre, but he's great at what he does. I just fell in love with Hollywood Cemetery. My guy found him entertaining too. Awesome...
I was there for a few opening songs. I had no idea who they were. They were good, but I wasn't quite feeling them:-/
I have to say it was a douche-lite experience for me too. In fact I was saying to a friend how especially cool people are in general this year. I encountered more "douche-ettes' than bags. Huge...
^ This. I was looking at the keyboard player. During that storm, her face was so serene, posture perfectly still, relaxed except for her hair which was blowing wild. They were amazing! They were...
It was packed!! I was on the outside of the Gobi to the right. I had to leave early. I had push through a virtual sea of bodies. When I came out, I was almost at the Mojave. That's how crowded...
They did a cover of the Beatles "She's So Heavy". Yesssss!
Yes, we did Pixiessp. I also met The Clares briefly and Tyles. Btw, I really tried to find you and Tom in the beer garden:-(
Weekend 1 (Group photo):
Pixies (we met last year)
Nathan (apparently we met at Gang Gang Dance in '09)
Fizzle Fry (love those goggles)
Gay in Palm Springs
Sebessio (love the silver)
^ The last quote happened to me with my friend wanting to see guetta:-(
...vomiting or passed out in the restroom! Damn:-(
This happened to me at least twice last weekend. I had my sprained a finger on my right hand so I had it taped. Therefore, I only had my left...
Representing the 310, westside, Santa Monica. I do not dress like a scarecrow.
Yeah, I'm over 30. And I kill as a dancer in the Do-lab, Sahara, where ever. Every year I've gone, I get asked for photo ops. This just fuels my energy more so I feel even younger:-)
When I was...
I only caught a couple songs of Mazzy Star from really far away. Maybe it was the weather? Or maybe she should have played in a tent. This was after Pulp, so I wasn't feeling them at all, in fact...
Right up front, dead center for Beats Antique, Lucent Dossier. Tried to get up front but got close for Pulp. Up front for Buzzcocks. Other bands I was close and very comfortable, even though I...
Jarvis!! Also, Wouter de Backer. Would Snoop be considered a frontman? HM goes to Russel Marsden for his very solid guitar playing and great hair.
I felt something was missing too. We're just not that into each other anymore. Also, I compromised for a friend and had to listen to Guetta:-( The sacrifices I make for friends.
It sounded like she covered "This is the End" but I wasn't sure. Was very far back, really cold. Stayed for maybe 3 songs.
Caught about 10 mins. Liked what I heard, but had to leave.
Left the disappointing Kaskade for this. Was there from beginning to almost the end! Just what I needed to get out of the cold. Danced my ass off!
They have a strict rule about shots:-( I got the bartender to compromise: he put an ice cube in my shot glass.
No cold for me. But first time in four years after a Coachella that I felt tired and a bit depressed. Usually, I have this crazy energy going for the next month after a Coachella weekend. Could...
I tagged along w/ people who wanted to see Gotye. I found a comfy spot at a pillar 20 ft a way or so. I positioned myself, so that if I didn't like them, I could bail fairly easily.
I was very...
Damn those Spaniards! I was about 40 ft from the rail to the right. My friend and I made sure we got close. We're both short, so a lot of people were cutting in front of us, but polite about...
Dre & Snoop
*HM for the acts I caught a few songs and wish I had stayed longer: Santigold, Gotye, Gary Clark Jr., SebastiAn.
I was up at the rail for this. It was my must see for Sunday. They did not disappoint. The base was really strong. Aside from that, fun, exotic, great crowd, dancers and beats!
