Glad to hear their performance was so well-received. I figured it would be. Their show at the 9:30 was one of the highlights for me this year. I'm still surprised they weren't on one of the outdoor...
I'm pretty excited reading these reviews, seeing her next week. I can't wait!
I agree. I was at the second Radio City show and while I thought it was awesome, I would have liked to hear more from This Is Hardcore. That's actually the one that made me a huge Pulp fan, though I...
Wow, what a show! And yes the crowd was tame, some people were actually sitting down during a few songs. :nono Was great to hear Monday Morning and Bad Cover Version. They played about and hour and...
Saw them here at the 9:30 Club a few weeks ago, I highly recommend seeing them. Great mix from all of their material and great energy. I have a feeling the Mojave tent is going to be overflowing!
Seeing them at Radio City tomorrow, I can't wait!!!

3. PJ Harvey
4. Chemical Brothers
5. Titus Andronicus
6. Swell Season
7. The National
8. !!!
9. Trentemoller

I was at their set in 2002 after Bjork, and I agree it was fantastic! I'd have no problem with them playing the main stage.
Wow, after reading all these reviews I went ahead and purchased a ticket for their show at the 9:30 Club next month. Hopefully they will be as good as the Coachella performance.
My presonal faves:
LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
Gorillaz - Demon Days
Muse - Origin of Symmetry
Phoenix - It's Never Been Like That
Spoon - Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
Pavement - Slanted and...
One of my favorite shows when I lived in Vegas:

I keep my tickets in a photo album. I think it has slowed the fading of the writing...
I thought that this was such a good idea that I decided to do this myself. Very long process, but I think it will be worth it in the end.
I enjoyed looking at yours C DUB. I noticed we've seen...
Yeah, I concur. I'm really glad now that I went to the Synagogue show in February.
Friday:
Leonard Cohen
Paul McCartney
M. Ward
Beirut
Morrissey
Saturday:
I just saw him here last Saturday and was great, I highly recommend checking him out. He started the set playing about 5 songs by himself (including a cover of Let's Dance). The rest of the show he...
Saw Antony and the Johnsons in D.C. last night, and have to say I was extremely impressed. I highly recommend checking them out. My only concern is where they get placed. Hopefully, they will play...
Definitely Ágætis Byrjun. () is a very close second.
Portishead for sure, though Kraftwerk, Prince, The Verve and Roger Waters were excellent as well.
I voted OK Computer, but there were so many great albums released in the
90's that it's hard to pick. Some of my personal favorites besides OK Computer:
Nirvana - In Utero
Massive Attack -...
First saw them in October 1995 as an opening act for Soul Asylum.
Also saw them at Field Day festival in New Jersey and at Merriweather in Columbia, MD in 2003 and most recently at Nissan in...
Wow, this is EXTREMELY difficult. I voted Massive Attack, but I still absolutely LOVED Portishead at Coachella. Oh, and Thievery Corp aren't in the same league as Portishead and Massive Attack at imo.
Daft Punk
Pulp
Blur
Massive Attack
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Afghan Whigs
James
I know Daft Punk and Massive Attack were there in 06, but both would be great for the 10th anniversary.
Even though I was totally drenched and freezing, still enjoyed the show very much. This was my 4th time seeing Radiohead, and they never fail to impress me. I would have liked to hear Exit Music (my...
Yep, I've been to Coachella in 2002, 2006 and 2008 and this is the best set I have seen, even better than the legendary set from Daft Punk. And, "Third" is definitely my favorite CD so far this year,...
Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I lived in Las Vegas for about 5 years (94-99), and even though they have tried to add culture to this city it just has never worked and probably never will. I...
1. Portishead (best I have seen at Coachella)
2. The Verve
3. Roger Waters
4. Kraftwerk
5. Stephen Malkmus + Jicks
Friday:
Rogue Wave
Redd Kross (about half of set)
Battles (first few songs)
Les Savy Fav (most of set)
Dan Deacon (first half)
Jens Lekman
Cut Copy (first few songs)
Vampire Weekend (most...
I enjoyed it very much. Granted, the sound problems the first few songs were very annoying, but after that I thought it was fantastic. I much prefer the accoustic version, and using the strings and...
"Roads" - Portishead
"Mother" - Roger Waters
"The Drugs Don't Work" - The Verve
My favorite performance of the festival, and that's saying a lot considering how many great performances there were. Hearing Roads, Glory Box and Machine Gun live was just incredible! I never thought...
It's been two days, and I still keep playing Pink Floyd songs on my ipod. This was just an incredible show words can't even describe. Although hearing DSOTM was great, I loved hearing the songs from...
1. Portishead - as has been described here many times, AWESOME!!!!
2. The Verve - better than when I saw them 10 years ago
3. Roger waters - WOW, the sound was just mindblowing.
4. Kraftwerk -...
Their performance at Lollapalooza last year with the Chicago Youth Symphony was fantastic, and yes the '06 performance at Coachella was great as well. They are definitely a must-see for me.
This is VERY hard to narrow down considering the vast number of great songs, but off the top of my head:
When Doves Cry
Kiss
Let's Go Crazy
Controversy
Sign O the Times
Raspberry Beret...
2592 miles from Washington D.C.
I also saw Pavement at that Lolla, and I concur it was a great show. One of many that day (Beck, Hole, Sonic Youth, Elastica). I love the new Stephen Malkmus CD and will definitely be there.
Friday:
The Verve
Fatboy Slim
Redd Kross
Saturday:
Portishead
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks
I usually wear sandals when I'm walking from stage to stage, but usually take them off when I'm listening to a band. Luckily, I've never stepped on cigarette butts, but I usually pay close attention...
I agree, it is very good. I was listening to the new album on the myspace page the other night and thinking I'm definitely going to see them.
Actually, I couldn't care less if the did Bittersweet Symphony, there are SO many better songs on Urban Hymns. However, I know they will do it which is ok. I'm hoping they do at least three or four...
I'm actually more excited about Redd Kross being added than Aphex Twin. I remember seeing them probably 14 or 15 years ago as an opening act and they were fantastic!
(1966-85) Sterling, IL
(85-88) DeKalb, IL
(89-92) Fresno, CA
(92-94) Seattle
(94-99) Las Vegas
(99-02) Miami
(02- ) Washington D.C.
So, have you actually SEEN The Verve perform live? I have, and I can honestly say they don't "suck ass". Far from it. As has been mentioned in other posts, they are the real headliner for Friday...
Coachella wins by a landslide imo. I've seen Pearl jam now about 4 or 5 times (most recently at Lolla last year), and don't really need to see them again. I've seen Metallica a few times, and...
Actually, that one "hit" is probably one of my least favorites from Urban Hymns. I much prefer Sonnet, Weeping Willow, Lucky Man and The Drugs Don't Work.
Also, check out their second cd, A...
I've seen them twice, here at the 9:30 Club and at Coachella 2006, and they were excellent both times.
Should be one of the highlights of the weekend. I saw them about 10 years ago before they broke up and it was a fantastic performance.
I vote for PJ Harvey, The Kills and Drive-by Truckers.
