My thoughts exactly. What a fantastic pairing.

My thoughts exactly. What a fantastic pairing.
The Drive-By Truckers w/ Sturgill Simpson
Nov 20, 21, 22 @ The Fillmore.
Kasabian w/ Bo Ningen
10/6 @ Fox Theater.
I was never much of a Braid fan during their first era, but damn if their new record isn't great. Much better than many of the releases from the new school of emo bands. Makes me have high hopes for...
Jimmy Eat World - 10/4 @ Oakland Metro
If you don't already have a reservation your only hope is to show up before they open and get one of the spots they reserve for walk in.
Nice. I happen to be in Seattle when this happens. Gonna try and get tickets but I expect it to be a disaster.
Early bird tickets this Thursday. No word on price yet.
Compare where they are billed on the two posters. Having them close a stage makes complete sense with their billing on the OSL poster.
Caveat emptor, this is technically for ameriprise customers but many folks report this application working whether or not they are...
Ah, my bad for posting at work when I only have enough time to scan a post quickly. You can get a platinum card with no fee for a year right now, though that turns into $450 a year after that (though...
The Bluebird card has no fees at all as far as I know and the Serve card has a $1 monthly fee that you can get waived under certain conditions. Both of these are AMEX prepaid cards.
For Preferred Seating
And we thought Philly was bad....
Passes bought. Mostly painless.
The Philly lineup is absolutely awful. :puke
I must read the rest of this thread asthe last page alone is full of win. Sturgill Simpson's record is in my top 10 albums of 2014 and climbing higher with every listen. Robert Ellis also has a new...
This is fantastic.
Interesting interview from Mineral at http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/mineral_interview_chris_simpson_2014
They later say the JEW show is pushed back to the fall and they can't play it...
Fuck, I really need to go to this especially with Slint being a possible addition. Still holding out to see what FYF and FFF have in store though.
Mineral is out.
No, it just means people post off-topic drivel in this thread.
Has Launch Sacramento announced their lineup yet? The War On Drugs seems like they would be one of the bigger bands on their lineup.
If we are calling La Dispute a young post-hardcore band then I will add Trophy Scars to that list.
You are right. Lessons learned in one situation can never be applied in another situation. Glad you reminded us of this.
Talked to them after their W2 set. They are coming back starting in October and are hitting the west coast this time.
So with First City out TI is our last hope to get The Replacements in the Bay Area. Looks like they are skipping the Bay Area unless they decide to do a one off show.
Passion Pit played First City in 2013. From the 2014 undercard I think The Men, San Fermin and Speedy Ortiz make the most sense for FYF.
Beck is headlining First City the same weekend so it could happen.
Beck and The National headlining.
Are we considering Shaky Knees the big time now?
Was hoping so but they make it clear that Pygmalion will be their first show back and that happens after FYF.
Or a TI night show at the independent. Either way would be much better than noon on the small stage to 20 people.
I would love to eat crow on this one, but I see no way you get an acid-punk-stoner-noise-metal-noise band at TI. As you said, not in their wheelhouse.
There's a reason I posted that in the FFF thread and not here. With some rare exceptions, TI doesn't like any hint of danger or aggression in their rock bands.
We were talking during Factory Floor's set so not the best time for picking out accents. Disappointingly, though, it was just the typical English spoken with a Japanese accent. No sign of a Cockney...
Lineup and location in the next 2 weeks or so per twitter.
Talked to Bo Ningen in the Gobi after their set at Coachella weekend 2. They said they would be back in the US starting in October and would be hitting the west coast this time around. Would be a...
Maybe Spoon -> Flaming Lips on Sutro with Tiesto conflicting with both of them? Seems like it could work.
Whoever typeset this single day poster did a fucking awful job.
Fuck Buttons tour dates eliminate them.
Damn, I thought set times got released for W2 and these guys were added.
Would have been a much better thread.
In 2011 they announced The Shins a day or two after the lineup was announced. It could be tickets but could also be someone like Pixies, The Replacements or Lorde, i.e. a big name they couldn't...
This is new ground for the festival in selling out so quick and it will likely lead to the market for tickets playing out very differently than before. VG, I hope you are right. Would love to see how...
Streaming tonight at 745.
Did anyone see them last night? How were they?
I have a hotel but none of the other two. If we find a person with a flight we will have the complete set.
