I went to the local thrift store today and there was a shit ton of new stuff there. It seemed like two collections were dropped off: a fan of 50s vocal pop and 60s-80s country and a calypso/jazz...

Nice. Is it the Homestead press or the Flying Nun? How much did you find it for?

Awww yeah, finally that Outkast leaks!

Wait, whaddya mean he's not in Outkast? He got a whole solo set, just like Dre and Big Boi.
  8. Re: The Thread Where You Name an Artist and Someone Else Recommends an Album

Psychedelic Underground is the one for the original Amon Duul, but II is much better. And yes, Tanz Der Lemminge is killer as well.

I wish I could help with Vic Chestnutt but I'm in the same boat. I never listened to him before he killed himself and now have found it hard to start.
  12. Re: The Thread Where You Name an Artist and Someone Else Recommends an Album

The original or II? You most likely want Amon Duul II. I love both Phallus Dei and Yeti. Yeti is the one that best represents the breadth of the band.
