No, you would welcome it. While everyone is watching JT, you would be five-deep at a much better show in a tent.

Same here.
Shuttle passes were pretty cheap on the secondary market so I wouldn't worry.
I think you're onto something. The underwhelming headliners (as far as buzz) gave a lot of people pause this time around. Fine with me. Maybe they'll shell out more for talent or maybe the bros...
Friday headliner. Put some "hot" EDM in the Sahara and us old 80's new wavers will have the run of the place.
That's more or less what I figured. Thanks for the illumination.
Seemed like last year they had 4-5 of their top 6 on the main stage, so I don't think that's a worry.
This. And it's not even close.
As far as musical "worst moments" I'd have to go with Yuck 2012, Modest Mouse 2013 and Rodriguez 2013. Those were real disappointments.
At my high school, you were either a Journey/Styx/REO jack-off, punker that was into DK's, etc. or rocker into Zep/Floyd. I was #3; we respected #2 and had no respect for group 1.
Isn't it about time to have a separate Daft Punk forum, right after "Carpools."
I mean, I get it, they're good and that 90 minutes on the fields would be great. But the attention devoted to...
With fewer acts, maybe they will limit it to three music stages and put the comedy where there won't be as much sound-bleed.

You really need to stay at the Main stage to get anything out of it. The Twin Peaks stage gets real crowded later in the day and it's filled with talkers. I didn't venture to the minor stages later...
Done and done.
I was expecting better from him. I dropped in and was hoping to be pulled in to stick around for the whole set. I didn't. It was pretty underwhelming stuff.
Given the demo at Coachella this year, there would be me and about 100 other old dudes at the Outdoor for this show.
Lineup to be announced right before Memorial Day.
Bummed I missed this. Left my luggage at home and lost about 90 minutes of drive time. Ugh.
It's not in the Pantheon of Stones albums (Fingers and Exile being near perfect albums, imo), but most bands would be very happy to have that as their best album. Hang Fire, Neighbors, T&A, 'Friend...
I would think Local Natives would make a good near-headliner.
I fully support any act that takes massive amounts of KROQ bros away from acts I really want to see.
All I can say is that this is a good argument to have.
How about a "Tim" start to finish reunion. The only thing I'd skip for that would be a Zep reunion.
Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod
Beach House - 10 mile stereo
Grizzly Bear - Yet Again
Violent Femmes - Blister in the Sun
Little Green Cars - The John Wayne
Hands down for me was the Green and Eggs Ham shirt where Sam's friend smells the meal and says "What the fuck is that shit?"
For me, it was this, along with Blister in the Sun by VF and What You Know by TDCC
I think they were doing one act to "Dazed and Confused" live, so there is that.
Not entirely true. There were a few acts that were jam-packed (Passion Pit, Modest Mouse, LUmineers, OM&M, come to mind) but good spots could be had at just about any non-Sahara act if you got there...
One of my top sets from the weekend. J always brings it.
That was a real downer and brought the whole day down. I spent the next few hours dreading that this was gonna be 2010 all over again, especially after the Modest Mouse debacle. Thankfully the back...
I do slightly regret taking the "safe" path with TDCC (having seen them before) over Franz. I still had a great time at TDCC, but Franz looked like they killed it in the video.
Did anyone check out their set? I'm not a big fan of the genre, but are these guys for real? It looked like an SNL skit, quite honestly. I think the same people that would like this also like pro...
Of stuff that hasn't been mentioned (or at least I didn't notice) I would improve this:
--Who thought it was a good idea to put the ADA stand at the Outdoor in a major thoroughfare? It caused a...
I hope this is a troll thread. That said, I was disappointed they didn't play Riders on the Storm.
These guys are nothing like Mumford & Sons. Five piece band built on careful harmonies, melodic guitar leads, some interesting musical touches and catchy tunes. I thoroughly enjoyed this set and...
Arcade Fire didn't play this year. Neither did Led Zeppelin.
Last year, they announced the days when the single-day tix went on sale, which was about July 20. Metallica was listed first and they appeared on Saturday.
After going last year, I'm not up for 3 days of this, but I'd be up for the Macca day. It will be interesting to see what happens with the single-day tix, since I suspect the Macca day will be in...
Agreed. Never got totally into them while in college in the 80's, as I should have, but they killed it. This was one of the most fun sets of the whole weekend.
Why didn't they boot him off, like they did Cee-Lo and Modest Mouse? Messed up my schedule for the whole day.
Well, our A4 dance party was pretty cool too. I was about ready to call it a weekend after social d but they reeled me in and couldn't leave.
I left in the middle. Very pedestrian-sounding MOR rock that would not have made a KMET playlist in the late 70's. I left a crappy youth lagoon set for this, which was just as crappy.
Agreed. All members brought it. Lead guitarist was one of the best of the weekend. They will play a bigger stage some day soon.
"Golden Voice needs to target the younger demographic to make Coachella work, at least for the headliners."
No, no they do not. Perhaps as far as arranging acts on the schedule but not for...
Modest Mouse sucked for a lot of reasons. Bad sound, too much chatter, too many bros.
Diiv was underwhelming. I posted elsewhere that they looked they were rehearsing in a garage. There were...
Or a Cream reunion
For me, there was something missing this year and I can't put my finger on it. It may be that Friday kinda sucked (overdoing birthday celebration, forgetting a backpack and having to back track,...
They are making you check out with your wristband, though.
I'm OK with the latter, too. I just don't need to see you struggling with your spell check 2 feet in front of my face.
