Oh it does. I guess you're just not smart enough.

Nope. I'm too old to be adorable or offended and I couldn't care less about freestylin'. Just thought it was funny (hence the smiley) that someone with as many posts here as you was telling others...
Yeah, posting 7000 times on a message board in just over a year is way more mature...
Totally about time. Just can't believe how far down the bill they are and some of the goobers that are above them on the poster.

I was hoping to catch them this summer at Madstock in Finsbury Park but travel plans changed and I hit London well afterwards. I'm sure it was great seeing them but reunions to me are more memorable...
Much as I'd love to see the Specials...without Jerry it's like a Pixies reunion without Kim Deal.
I'm thinking Pop Will Eat Itself is due for a return.
Can't have Pains, Pavement, and the Pogues without the Pastels. New album out now, bit meh, but they are legends and should be flown over pronto.
yep, should be announced in the morning.
They're both playing a fest together but it ain't Coachella or Bonnaroo, so far anyways...It'll be announced very soon.
was there and it was as hot as Coachella. add in Joanna Newsom and the Dears on the other stage and it was as good as one day fest can get.
Camping seems to be the biggest complaint about Benicassim but if it's just that it's too hot then I can deal with that because I can't see it being hotter than Coachella and I've survived that...
Anyone been to both? I've been to Coachella twice and it looks like it's going to be Benicassim for me this year. Their website is pretty useless and there's a few lame message boards on other sites...
Sold out Pacific Coliseum (Canucks old home) in Vancouver. They're big with 12-15 year olds.
Only on a Coachella board....
That Tel Aviv set list is massive. Can you imagine Macca running into the Killers beforehand, "Brandon, here's my set list. What do you think? What are you guys going...
Was too burned out to enjoy them in 04 but they blew me away at Sasquatch last year. Usually play for 2.5 hours plus and they've got the catalogue to justify it.
Brandon Flowers must look at that poster, see himself between Macca and the Cure and scratch his head trying to remember just when it was he sold his soul.
Killers=Portishead (placeholder...
Yes, get on with your life like the man with over 9000 posts says....
this is the problem with fucking idiots who hang out on message boards 18 hours a day: they have no life experience and no ability to relate to others in any meaningful, empathetic way. they think...
went down to Seattle to see him in September. Waited 20 years to see him and it was worth it. He would be an excellent closer for the Outdoor Stage.
I grew up on all those 80's bands and the Smiths were great. Very original. They still were nowhere near as good as the Jesus and Mary Chain. I came down in 07 to see them but I'm not sure a Smiths...
Is that a Matthew Good avatar?
Sam Roberts > Matt Good but I'm still surprised he sold out the Orpheum. Don't think the Broken Social Scene/Tegan and Sara show there has even sold out yet.
Whatever happened to guy who ran The Decadent West? That blog was savage. There was some blurb after a long absence that he'd been arrested and was facing jail time but never knew if that was true or...
Stone Roses
Husker Du
take your time with that sentence. ESL students should feel welcome here too.
No Jerry Dammers. Don't know why that guy keeps holding out. They can't even call themselves the Specials as he holds the copyright on the name. They went under a pseudonym when they were the...
I'll add:
Wonder Stuff
Jazz Butcher
Trashcan Sinatras
Tindersticks
The House of Love
The Fall
The Cramps
the Pastels
Not quite veterans and not even sure if they have or haven't played yet but...Okkervil River.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds is long overdue. As is Yo La Tengo who, according to Ira, have never even been asked to play Coachella!
I was considering going to see the Ocean Rain show in NYC a couple months ago. Echo and the Bunnymen doing that album at Coachella would definitely get me on a plane.
4600 posts on a Coachella board and you don't know who the Wedding Present are?
Been around since mid 80's. They were on the famed C86 tape put out by NME and have put out many revered songs and...
Would be awesome but really as far as reunions go, it's never going to be the Replacements without Mars and Bob. I'd settle for Slim but he seems to be completely out of the picture.
And if you're...
Just put out their L.A. album "El Rey", kind of blah but they're still fantastic live.
probably a tougher reunion than the Smiths and Stone Roses.
Weller wants no part of it.
original lineup?

But if you plug in Glastonbury it blows them both away.
Exactly. The Sunday crowd for Rage last year totally changed the feel of the day. That's what headliners can do and that will probably be the case this year as well.
I think if 80-90% of the bands on the undercard are consistent in the type of music they represent, then the headliners should also be representative of that genre. Right now there's a disconnect...
like removing Jack Johnson and Roger Waters and putting headliners in that say "Coachella" and not "another generic rock festival"?
That's pretty accurate. Coming out the back of Palm Springs on 74 you are pretty quickly hitting some wicked uphill switchbacks that are very narrow. They go on for a long time. This is the probably...
we drove out of hwy 74 when we left last year. it's beautiful but I can't imagine riding those hills in that heat.
here's a shot from the car to give you some idea.
...
Don't be put off by the posts here. I've been to Coachella twice and been an infrequent visitor to this Board for a few years and the asshole ratio is easily 50:1 (online compared to onsite).
Some...
Stone Roses
Husker Du
Agreed. Paying for it is much better than getting a freebie :winkiss
Funny you say that. In 2003, REM, Wilco and the Dandys played at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver and the next night Radiohead and Stephen Malkmus played. It was like a mini Coachella that I wouldn't...
Now I remember why I don't usually come here in the Coachella off-season.
Maybe it's end of summer melancholy or maybe it's just a cold, hard fact:
Coachella needs to get Husker Du back together.
I can't believe this hasn't been adopted as someone's sig yet!
And really, the overwhelming majority of Canadians don't have an obsession with the States and don't have an identity crisis. We're...
Rage Patton, like me, is from Vancouver (Vancouver, Canada). You have to go out of your way here to get Fox News. Few do.
As someone else said, any political commentator who showed up on TV and...
