GA without the shuttle were sold during the post lineup on sale. May have been hard to find but they were present.
3% of the Coachella audiences trying to ignore the EDM beats coming from the do lab or Sahara drawing out his set.
Otherwise I support this 100%.
How about the Pearl Jam shoe fight in 1993(pre-Coachella)?

The early bird pricing format here was a complete bait & switch. Other fests are very upfront about ticket quantities and price jumps.
90% of coachella tickets sold on the secondary market don't really make any money, many take a hit. Very detailed evidence in numerous threads on this forum illustrate the point year after year.

Is Daft Punk still the most sought after headliner now that the album is out? Even if it's only the 2 guys onstage with no live instruments or guests doing mostly the new album?
In 2009 MBV got 75 minutes.
In 2013 Nick Cave got less than 50 minutes.
I'm still trying to figure out who benefited in this situation. Both acts got identical billing in their respective year.
I could see this as a really fun sub headliner. I think GV would be laughed out of the room if they put it top line.
Vancouver show downgraded from major league arena to the 2,800 seat theater.
How long before Kanye flips out over Kim having tons of paid side deals with tabloids and Papparazzi?
Gawker uncovered a photo of US magazine employee on the KK yacht in Europe.
Like Jeff Mangum and Stone Roses, MBV seem strongly opposed to letting pro-shot footage circulate.
watching Postal Service Primavera as I write. Watched Tame Impala and Dino Jr earlier today.
Only 4 of those 16 passes are available to the general public. Regular GA is afforable but VIP/Eldorado/Safari are all pricey.
Non performing celebs usually wear "guest" or "artist" wristbands.
For the short-sighted, the answer is yes.
Peeling back a layer you see that over priced hotel packages never sold out 2 years in a row(GV is in the indio travel package business 8 figures deep),...
W2 tickets mostly sold after the lineup both years. Though I think W2's will have a more anticipation in 2014 than 2012 and 2013.
Otherwise i strongly agree with the above post. Last minute...
The crowd sizes for both Nick Cave and SR have me genuinely concerned for similar bookings in the future. Only 4%(myself included) of the entire crowd on the festival grounds cared, which is grossly...
Is it a package deal with his wife and kid having their acts on the lineup somewhere?
Europe will likely be Stadiums and maybe some other continents.
They've never done arena only tours in Europe, Japan, Australia since the 1980's.
ian played Bumbershoot in Seattle last September and it was awesome. Modest sized crowd(almost entirely grey haired)in Seattle that would be criminally small at Coachella.
She recently refuted his claim they married and chalked it up to his "vivid imagination".
Tori Amos said that in the early 90's he proposed to her the first or second time they ever met. Zep's...
As a fan of all 4, the entire crowds from HTDA/SR/Blur/Grind could have all been a show at a single stage without any overcrowding.
Best acts I saw all weekend, why did they only get 45...
They have to sell to 90,000 per weekend, which is well over twice the budget they had 7-8 years ago.
Weirdly, I don't think the 2013 lineup will be as revered as some of the earlier lineups for...
Maybe GV insists on the being the one persuing "reunion" acts rather than the other way around.
Has any reunited act been the one to initiate a major booking of any festival? Coachella Jane's...
I'm come to appreciate the SR booking and the music onstage, but I still think it's silly to make this claim. Even with only 10,000 paid attendees the first year, I bet both headliners and all 3...

With the possible exception of an Oasis reunion, I can't think of anyone who'd qualify as a "co-headliner" with Beck.
The logistics of bringing upwards of 300 "worthwhile" international acts to SoCal in mid APril 2014 is worse than trying to keep 150 of them in southwest US for a week.

CHVRCHES doing the launch party = doing the festival itself? They have the dates open but they are in Ireland Sept 1st.
It's just the PR team trying to spin the situation and make everyone look good.

Stacked lineup with corporate sponsorship!!!!
if W1 will sell out no matter what then have that 3 days festival over easter or even go thu/fri/sat like some international festivals.
IMO, Stagecoach or W2 could have ticket selling issues if...
You're comparing a "2 day" festival(huge money loser that year) that sold 25-30,000 tickets vs. a "3 day" festival that needs to sell 180,000. Plus it's 15 years removed.
Blur/SR would only make...
I notice they didn't sell out of the super limited pins on the last day of W1.
Even with a guest appearance from Xenu himself, Beck isn't a headliner.
How long should they play? Intermission? Skip the drum solos?
Here was their 35-40 minute SARStock setlist from 2003. Not sure they've done another true multi-artists festival in 30+ years.
...
they didn't shut it down in 2010 when they were a good 10,000 over capacity.
It's not like a couple principle band members weren't born and raised in Texas.
Last year they booked Ian Hunter, Tony Bennett, Eric Burdon with Greenhornes(cancelled last minute, he's back again) and Wanda Jackson.
They've actively persued music legends int he latter stages...

Lineup comes out in about 45 minutes. 10:30pm PST.
Haven't heard any rumours. Tegan & Sara/FUN double bill is playing Vancouver on the Saturday and Godspeed is playing up here on Wednesday.
Other than the Smiths, who's got "wow" factor that is distantly possible?
Daft Punk qualifies, but less so if they announce a US tour around the same time.
Bowie is a long shot
Have W1 on easter to guarantee a sellout. W2 will have demand from those that have easter plans.
3 straight weekends.
They have become VERY strict about comps in recent years. I wonder if they only allow certain smaller acts(& their crew) access only on the day they perform.
Which font would they use on the poster?
Prince seems to be the only exception.
Even been in that stadium when it's raining. Which is 1/4 type ratio. Also the promoters make a conscious attempt to avoid chasing "headliners" as hard as other festiavls.
John Fogerty, singer from KORN and Rihanna have also both "performed" at the festival. Do you also want a solo set from Sheila E. since she sung with Prince in 2008?
This year GV had every oppurtunity to book a closing night set of 75 minutes of Nick Cave into a 2 hour Neil & Crazy Horse show. Esily worth a month of pulling black dust out of my nose for a month....
CCR(if his wife/manager tells John to do it he will)
REM
Fleetwood Mac(w/ Christine)
Halen(if DLR can sing)
Beach Boys(wrong demographic)
RUSH
RAMMS+EIN
SHAKIRA
KATY PERRY
CSNY
Last public show was almost 5 years ago and last tour with Bill Berry was 17 years ago.
He did do Ozzfest
Their single 2009 LA area gig did $8-9 million worth of ticket sales. With merch money it could have cleared $10mil in one night.
