This is the first time in my life I have ever witnessed use of "catsup"
Do you know how many times I cried over that? U R HEARTLESS : ' (
William Basinski's new album, Nocturnes, is great. Perfect to put on in the background and tune into every few minutes while I'm doing other stuff. Very ethereal nearly dissonant loop that's long...
So Amy's fuck list has 3 members on it eh? Where's TomAZ?
I think Amy just admitted that she wants Tom to somehow be involved in fucking herself.
Wow, that new Julia Holter song is SO good. That record has potential to be my AOTY based on this I think.
That Juan MacLean single was fantastic
For anyone who's seen Peter Hook and the Light on tour, do you think it's worth going to see them perform Movement and Power, Corruption, and Lies at the Fonda?
...
I wonder if TinyMixTapes will review it. I don't read them regularly but have enjoyed them in the past.
The fuck?
The Juan MacLean's new single is fantastic.
xuclarockerx, a tip: stop posting in the dating thread if you don't want people to give you shit for what you say there all over the boards
Most likely an announcement of the Weekend dates and the date/time of the presale.
"Name one artist that quotes nirvana as an influence." (Not directly DP related, but from that thread)
Actually, yeah, I'm not much of a Nirvana fan myself, but I have seen them quoted as an influence by so many bands, many of them great.
Good write-up. I'm intrigued.
Also, I commented on a fb post by Nils Frahm in which he said he would add two more North American shows that I hoped they would be SF and LA, to which he replied, "Might be :)"
International Noise Conference - Los Angeles

Ólafur Arnalds just added a new tour date to his existing schedule at The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever, on Fri Jul 12th
16th May 2013 - Almagią - Ravenna, Italy
17th May 2013 - Chiesa...
I enjoyed this album, it was fun for the most part. It wasn't the best album of the year nor did I expect it to be. I never seem to think any Daft Punk album is particularly amazing in full but...
Good thing you already purchased it :thu
I might be able to host that... we'll have to see how many people my place can fit. If I do, it's a short walk to the metro purple line which could then be taken to the gold line to the park.
I would be pretty stoked for Sunday but I have a family commitment that day. Saturday has some good stuff but I'm going to pass this year.
Oh, I misread what you wrote Bryan - my bad.
Totally not the same album at all.
I'd also say start with High Violet.
Brothers is a fantastic album.
5. John Williams Conducts John Williams: The Star Wars Trilogy

I was ridiculously obsessed with Star Wars as a child. Around the time I was 5, I started taking piano...
Happy birthday!
The album is not top notch. It's far beyond that. Fucking incredible, and gets better with every listen.
Severely tempted to talk about how boring the Strokes are ;)
The new National album is easily one of the best of the year so far, and they are exhilirating live. You won't see any complaints from me on this one.
Julia Holter is playing a Sunday night in Culver City on June 9th. You should come up for it, it will be great.
I have no idea how to get tickets though, and her agent never replied when I sent...
What? No. I'm just making the point that there's probably a million things we disagree on, and I guess I should be more guarded about the things I do say.
Also, I need to check out that !!!...
Yep, incredible album. I wrote something about it a bit ago. He's playing the Echo soon too, for those of you in LA.
As I always tell people in these situations, I like noise and ambient, so you can disregard my opinion. I don't post about those albums here because I know it's not something that has interest among...
I have gone to countless shows where both of those things were true and been completely awed.
No more derailing, let's PM.
Okay, this was actually funny, and I appreciate the levity.
I just remember wanting to leave so badly, but being trapped because I took the shuttle to the bowl (and even if I had parked there, it's stacked). And they played for some ungodly amount of time...
But did you listen to it in a GA venue? You can't be sure until you do.
Are you not aware that subjective statements don't need to be prefaced with "this is subjective" to be understood to be subjective?
In fact I even DID say it was subjective via: "I think". Jesus...
I already stated that everyone else who was there with me thought it was an electrifying performance. It wasn't an off night. I just don't like Wilco anymore.
What? They were the most boring band I'd ever seen. Having opinions is so stupid!
Nels Cline was good though, I would pay to see him do his own thing.
dude.....
it won't make a difference.
At the Hollywood Bowl. I had a nice box seat. A bunch of boardies told me it was an excellent first concert to see them at.
Joanna Newsom was very good.
Okay, understood. I guess "attack" was too strong of a word. I just found your response a little strange because essentially all I said was "I have fun listening to them" in a different set of...
Thanks.
So is it possible to buy tickets on livenation anymore without having to watch a video/listen to the audio commercial? I can't do that shit at work.
