There's a lot I don't know, for sure, which is why I am trying to figure stuff out and ask around. But I am not clueless. I have experience putting on shows. I've been working with a much smaller...
Here's a question- If this is an all ages event, but I want to sell alcohol, will that require me to pay a lot of extra money in insurance money/open up new legal issues, or is that a big deal?
Could go with that. Or maybe Llamaroo. Or Llamabury.
Thank you
I like it
I'll get the Talking Heads to reunite while I'm at it
I'm not trying to compete with Coachella or whatever. In fact, what I really want to do is bring artists to my city that would normally never come here. My city has never had an outdoors music...
Cool! I'm way too early in the planning stages to actually book anyone yet, but I'll write your info down and remember that when I do start booking.
So, I'm seriously looking into starting a decent sized (bigger then anything in this area, at least) outdoor music festival for next year in my hometown here in Texas (population of 120k). For at...
Definitely hoping for like a 2 hour set. They got a pretty good amount of songs in in only about 50-55 minutes Saturday though, more than I figured considering how long some are. Got most of what I...
How long, typically, are their headlining sets?
Both times I've seen them this was probably my favorite song they played. I'm really glad they played "Titus Andronicus" from the first album too...
Titus was easily my favorite set of the weekend. So great. One of my favorite bands and one of my most anticipated for the fest, and they still passed my expectations. Second was Refused. Hard to...
I was at the same show Tom was at and I can confirm, Titus was freaking awesome. I saw them back in March also and they sounded much better Saturday. I really really want to see a full set from them,...
yes
stages are set-up like this

like that right there is the orange stage. Band plays on the right side while another...
So I bought two tickets to the 10 PM showing at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood, because I'm taking a trip to LA later this month, but I had to delay my trip a few days and theres a decent chance I...
Radiohead-Foo Fighters-Daft Punk-Raconteurs
Pulp-Fleet Foxes-Bon Iver-Drake
Yup
This. There is no one I particularly want to see very much. I've never been a huge Soundgarden fan, I've already seen Girl Talk (fun time but not something I have to do again), and I'd love to see...
I'd love to go, had a great time last year and have been wanting to go back to NOLA ever since (that was my first time there), but not certain if I can afford it. its within driving distance so I...
June 2011 SPIN Magazine says DFA1979, Girls, and the Descendents as highlights
just in case you guys didn't know
theres a PDF floating around the internet of it
Hey, if flights were cheaper I'd consider it. Would be much cheaper all around than Lolla, decent line-up, get to see Muse at least once this year, and I'd get to hang out with my friend in that area...
Yeah, they opened for the Aquabats and Reel Big Fish when I saw them back in January (Their group is Koo Koo Kanga Roo). Music isn't the best or anything, their lyrics are intentionally pretty silly,...
If they love me, they'll do a proper Austin date in between, since both dates in Austin have been festival dates.
Also wouldn't be surprised if they made up the Missouri dates they cancelled last...
I REALLY want GA tickets for the Woodlands show, like even willing to pay over face value. So I'm hoping stubhub comes down on the prices in the next month or two and I can get one for under 100...
Yeah, I had tickets for that festival before Beirut was added. Very happy with that add. Indoors venue probably would have been better but the atmosphere at that festival is awesome anyway.
:D
First time ever in Houston
I honestly have not seen a ton of artists, I didn't get into live music until probably a year and a half ago, but Muse is second on my list of favorite live acts I've seen (Behind LCD Soundsystem)
..SXSW?
They've only played it once since 2008 (I believe), and that was in Japan. Not even Europe has gotten it in a while
but man this would be so awesome live

I got Citizen Erased at Voodoo and freaked out, feel very lucky to have heard it, specially on that tour. Also got MK Ultra there which made me really happy, I really wanted to hear that live. But...
Not much though. and with a new album by next tour, makes it even less likely they play them. In fact, some of the current regulars, like Time is Running Out or Stockholm Syndrome could become pretty...
Do you have a source on this? Not that I don't believe it, news is super awesome, hope it means more
I've seen them three times post-Uprising (Once opening for U2, once an arena show, one...
Awesome, I'm excited.
I really want to see them live. Well, I saw the end of one of their sets at a fest, like the last 3-4 songs, but just those were great and made me really want to see a full...
Kinda miffed that I couldnt get a pit ticket to the Woodlands show, and then I went and checked stubhub and just that one website had 1/4th of ALL the pit tickets for sale....cheapest being $200.
...
You may not know where this is, but I live in Beaumont, Texas. NOLA is like a 4-5 hour drive (I figured it was on a Saturday and an excuse to visit so I was hoping I could make it, but other plans...
How was the NOLA show? Or any of the shows so far?
I feel stupid, I really should have been paying attention, I just found out the other day that they added the Lafayette date. I might would have...
Very worried I'll be in school while this goes on. The pit is really small for the Woodlands so those tickets wont be easy to get.
So the fans raised the money to bring LCD there? How much money did they raise? Anyone know?
Oooh, this means a very good chance they get added to this

Came into this thread just to bring up Hayes Carll, glad to see I didnt have to do that.
Hes awesome. Seeing him in a few months
If they beef up the drums, make them louder and more powerful, then I think Feral could be awesome live.
But for the most part, while I do like the album a lot, the songs on there are not why I'm...
They didn't announce an opener for that one
No need to be an asshole, I pressed reply before you posted those dates, so I never saw them, I was only replying to the Phoenix date. Then I didn't check this thread after replying until now....
Did AF officially announce that date or did the venue? I'm really hoping this is just a tour date that leaked out, meaning tour dates coming within the next few days (tomorrow please? though monday...
I'm really excited. Have high hopes.
I'm really really hoping Radiohead as the top headliner (I've heard rumors about this too, even if its unlikely) though I'd also absolutely love Paul...
I could see the Red Hot Chili Peppers being that band
Foo's just played in 2008 and I don't see them getting a rap headliner like Em.
Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Portishead, Wilco
Of course I'm probably way overreaching.
AF is partly dependent on if they do a big Austin gig around May after Jazz Fest. And I'm pretty sure Wilco...
If their fee's aren't ridiculous, then this will be good for the industry as a whole. I'd be more willing to buy tickets if they weren't 12 dollars over face value everytime. And I'm sure many others...
They are similar, but I wouldn't say REALLY similar.
I did see TDCC opening for Phoenix though. And Phoenix's drummer couldn't make it so TDCC's drummer played drums for Phoenix (And did a good...
I know its the generic choice but honestly, for your final show ever, All My Friends is just about the most perfect song you can ever choose. I understand not closing with it on tour and stuff, but...
The only album I've listened to from this year so far is "Dye it Blonde" by the Smith Westerns. I'm already behind I guess.
But I'd nominate every song on that album. I really really love it
