"If you don't judge my gold chains, I'll forget the iron chains"
I wasn't expecting that guest verse.
Heads up for those of you hoping to score the $85 tickets for the Stones; those tickets are not available on the regular Ticketmaster on sale site, you have to follow a link from the band's tour page...
Marky Ramone and Andrew WK at the Independent on sale now. If it can't be Joey or Dee Dee, I think AWK is a great choice for lead singer. I think this show is going to be a lot of fun.
Street parking in that area is limited and sketchy.
I didn't go, but I keep up with this stuff. Here's the setlist:
The Holiday Song
Ed is Dead
Men in Black
I Heard Ramona Sing (dedicated to Joey Santiago)
When They Come To Murder Me
Wheels...
Doesn't sound like the Winters I know.
Abbabubba isn't an album, it's a compilation of throw away demos and wasn't widely released. While I admit it's not good, it does have a couple bright spots.
Well one thing is for sure, Black Francis has wanted to make a Pixies album for the last nine years and has gone so far as to demo many songs (several of which he's released in one form or another...
Being as that's all Kim stuff and five years old at its newest I don't think any of it is a good indication of what a Pixies record will sound like, even Bam Thwok.
Earlier Black Francis posted a couple pictures of the Pixies from 1988 on Facebook/Twitter, and a few minutes ago his wife, Violet Clark, posted the following on her Facebook page (she's already...
I posted some speculation about this in the default thread a while back, Frank and Joey were recording at Gil Norton's studio for a couple months and various involved parties (mostly Frank's wife)...
Where is this from?
Old people like to sit down.
I'm late on this one, but I just want to go ahead and say Heinrich is probably the best character ever.
That was a top three set of that weekend for me. They were so much fun.
One of my favorites as well, it feels like it's been a really long time since they've played San Francisco. I don't think they've been here since before Charlotte left the band.
Does Tegan and Sara's support slot for Fun. nearly half a year after Coachella really count for SFchella?
I love it!
Going to the Pete & Pete reunion/Mark Mulcahy show tonight, should be fun.
So, it looks like Abrams is doing Star Wars.

I'd forgotten how much I like the Police. Great write up, I think it's time to break out Message in a Box.
Frank Black write up still coming, there are a lot of albums.
I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you'd have to say, I'd also be interested in hearing more about Superchunk too, as I've only heard the first two albums.
Yeah, I'm covering pretty much everything, 25 albums in all. I'm leaving off the greatest hits, any live records and the second Grand Duchy album.
Only six albums in to my Frank Black/Black Francis write up and it is already about five pages in word. This is going to be a very long one.
I can do this too, we should do dueling pieces on his post Pixies out put.
I think the last time he actually played here was the run of shows he did at the Fillmore in September of '07.
I'm surprised to see that Criterion is already putting out Monsieur Verdoux when they still have some big(er) gun Chaplin movies they haven't released yet. Looking forward to it, though.
That's Nirvana, man.
Wait, you went to comic con?! Are there pictures?
How long has Michael Stipe been Bob Mould?
Oh, Chris Martin with the relevant pop culture jokes!
I'm glad radio personality Ralph Garman is sitting in on sax for Billy Joel tonight.
I hope Kanye joins Chris Martin for Homecoming, but since the set is only supposed to be ten minutes I won't count on it.
What are your favorite swashbucklers/cinematic sword fights?
Everything else aside, 50 characters?!
"I got soul, but I'm not a soldier". He's just lip synching to a Killers song.
I also thought his most recent one, the Way Back, was pretty good despite getting no attention and quietly disappearing.
Second Mosquito Coast, you should also see Picnic At Hanging Rock as soon as possible.
I went to Disneyland on Halloween dressed as a Bear.

"Not So Silent Night 2012, LIVE 105’s Annual Holiday Rock Show, will be our biggest NSSN ever! For the first time ever… Two Nights … Friday, December 7th and Saturday, December 8th at Oracle Arena,...
That's pretty incredible.
Could've used some Blade.
I saw them back in January, they were sadly pretty awful. They're really phoning it in at this point.
Are you positive she wants them "to play with" and not to collect? She might just be a nerd.
Malick sighting! It's kind of like trying to spot Waldo, but he's briefly visible off to the left, he's wearing a large brimmed hat. He was filming Rooney Mara pretending to play with the Black...
There's something kind of endearing about that guy. He reminds me of Fantastic Mr. Fox.
It'll be like that awful Warped Tour slasher movie with none of the artist cameos.
Nice! Sold!
