I could only get a half day on Friday but I still managed to make it in and catch a few great bands.....traffic sux...

took me 5 hours to make it in. Left LA at 2 pm - got in at 7 pm - managed to catch JAMC but I still really wanted to catch Amy since she cancel her spaceland show !
ACL Fest in Austin held every September - same idea - 3 days, 130 + bands all in a park in the city. Pick-up and drop off is remarkably easy. Caught Massive Attack, Tom Petty, Gnarls Barkley, Flaming...
I'm sober only because drinking & hot weather don't make sense to me - especially out in the desert..... besides, I rather not be the drunk guy who pushes his way up and complains to everyone within...
still packed as hell.... I realized that I need to bring a flashlight with me cuz it's hard to see where you're walking at night - almost ran into a few people sitting on the grass.
It's not as cold at night this year than last year so a short-size shirt should be fine. Bring a backpack for water - better to buy water at first and carry it with you than going back to a line....
You will have no problem - I got hit up at least 15 times between the parking my car and the entrance.
Get there as early as possible to avoid the parking line. The later you are, the less traffic there'll be but there'll always lines.
