Just bought my ATP UK tickets two days ago, sigh. I get back to Pittsburgh on the 25th, this will be tough but I'm gonna try
Go to Iceland Airwaves instead. 10 x as many acts over 5 days. Multiple sets. Kraftwerk.
So, to throw out some speculation: Sigur Ros was my obvious guess for a headliner(with their ATP connection, current touring, and upcoming album), but they're pretty busy around the time of this festival in Europe, though the 29th is open for them. Bjork is free around this time and I think would be an awesome act to have for an intimate ATP-style festival.
I saw a rumor on twitter that for this one, ATP will ditch their 'curation' aspect, which would be interesting, but not unfounded. ATP is only claiming about 20 acts over this fest, (and also claiming that music will start at 6pm daily) so it's definitely a smaller format(even though capacity is 4000 - fairly large by comparison).
A guess, completely unsubstantiated and based upon nothing whatsoever: the Sugarcubes.
they would be raking in the money if that happen
I would fly to Iceland for the Sugarcubes.
This fest is apparently only open to Icelandic headliners.
Also, Sigur Ros have dates on 28th and 30th - In Switzerland and UK. Not impossible, but unlikely.
The return of Quarashi? jk
Jakobinarina reunion is the only thing that would get me there.
The pool of headliner possibilities extends worldwide
Yes, 400€ is two tickets and a room for two
NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS
CHELSEA LIGHT MOVING (feat. Sonic Youth founder Thurston Moore)
THEE OH SEES
APPARAT ORGAN QUARTET
Also of note, that is seemingly the entire 2-day lineup.
We can also confirm that alongside performing in SQÜRL, legendary film director Jim Jarmusch will be choosing the films playing in the festival cinema on one of the days. The other day will have films selected by other bands on the line-up.
Ok, so nick cave has to play the non glasto date for their atp slot.
Best festival poster ever.
