Complete newbie here...

This is my first time looking to go to Coachella. I live in Austin and I've been to ACL for a few years now, but I want to see what else is out there.

I really want to make sure I can go this year, so...first things first.
When do the non-advance tickets typically go on sale? Can I even buy them if I'm not a local? Is there a mailing list I can sign up for (I'm assuming likely through Frontgate)?
I'm guessing the lineup will be announced near that time...is that usually before or after the tickets are sold?

Apologies if this is a common post. I spent maybe a half hour looking around and couldn't find anything on this.

They will be released about a week after the lineup (sometime in mid to late January) and you basically just have to get on the site at the right time that day and get yourself into a waiting room. Make sure you have a compatible browser and computer (not an ancient pos) and you will be fine.

Both weekends will sell out in under 6 hours however.

Faster than 6 hours. You'd be lucky to get them in 6 minutes.

lol I only say 6 hours because that's about how long it took last year. This year is the year after the 2Pac hologram...

I thought last year it was 5 minutes for Weekend 1, 3 hours for Weekend 2. I bet everything will be gone in an hour this year.
