New album (first in 21 years) comes out this year!
To actually hear new music from my all time favorite band would be enough for me, but it's not...PLEASE BOOK THEM.

Unless they pull an "In Rainbows", I don't think they could do a 6 week turnaround on manaufacturing of cd or vinyl or magazine/store advertising.

M.I.A., Franz Ferdinand and Vampire Weekend also had phantom albums that don't material. They've all made at least one song public.

At this point I'm surprised MBV fans believe album "announcements" before it's in their hands.

But yes, I support this 100%. MBV are still my favorite Coachella experience (tied with Jeff Mangum).

i dont see it happening for some reason but i fully support. they were great in '09

He's never given any specific narrow timeframes for release before, now he's are saying for sure by the end of the year. He's confirmed the album is finished and they are just putting the final mixing/post-production touches.

In 2007 he said it was "3/4ths finished". 7 months ago he said he was "almost done".
