Dirty Bird Records 2013
Can we please get back to the good shit? Tired of this nonsense.
People are gonna dance no matter what - might as well let these mindless ass tards who don't know the difference between one DJ and the next, dance to quality music! Bring on some Dirty Bird.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
signed. just bring em all.
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
their 1st weekend Do Lab take over was pretty fucking amazing. I say keep em in the Lab, away from the douchers
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
No way. Would love to see Claude, Justin Martin, or J. Phlip in a tent.

Christian Martin and Worthy in the Do Lab last year were some "best of" moments for me. I think the sahara would be cool, but only if they had decent set times.
Signed.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Lets get Claude VonStoke and Justin Martin. As well as some of the dudes who have releases with them like Eats Everything, Julio Bashmore and Kill Frenzy.
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Eats Everything, Justin Martin, and Claude VonStroke in the Sahara.
J. Phlip, Kill Frenzy, French Fries, Nick Monaco, Shadow Child, etc. in the Do Lab.
Full on dirtybird takeover.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
These guys are so much fun live, they're always having a great time on stage. Seeing them in SF on Friday, but always down for some Dirtybird!
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
I feel like Claude would be the only one that could fit in the Sahara, and it'd be a super early slot which is kinda lame

Justin Martin and Eats Everything would definitely fit in, but I agree, early timeslots.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Someone please tell me which Dirtybird artist wouldn't "fit" in the Sahara.

Good point.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
None of them would fit.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
"Justin Martin on the bill totally saved the Sahara this year."
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
"Hey, who are these guys? This funky, minimal tech-house is a welcome break from the maximal complextro and big room anthem house that the rest of today's DJs have been spinning" - nobody

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Add Justin Jay to the list of Dirtybirds I want to see at Coachella, been grooving to this mix for the past week, it's so good: http://soundcloud.com/dirtybirdrecor...-jay-dirtybird

2013 brings another standout Dirtybird tour to our shores in the form of the Players Club. After the success of this years hugely successful Spring ‘Hatched’ tour, the key DB crew will be taking to the road again, kicking off in March in Austin, TX and taking in Paris, New York, San Francisco, Berlin, London and Birmingham amongst other pit-stops. With festivals such as Lollapolooza, Coachella, Movement and WMC included, and dates all the way into early 2014, it’s plenty of time to fill up your diaries with Dirtybird fun.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Nice! If that's true, it's the best news I've heard all day!
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
I hope it is. I don't know anything about the source, found my way there from the Consequence of Sound page.
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Pretty sure I either saw that or a similar quote last week. Either way, their sets will be something not to miss. What are we thinking on stage. Late afternoon do lab or early afternoon Sahara? They certainly deserve better, but not sure if they'll get the respect.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Anyone else find that Do Lab weekend 1 was a lot better then weekend 2?

So wrong. An-ten-nae and Minnesota were awesome in the Do-Lab.
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Does that site state whether they will be there for both weekends? Could easily see DB just running the Do-Lab for one weekend then moving on.

It doesn't specify. A DB Do-Lab takeover was what I was thinking too, similar to what they did at Ultra a couple years back.

Did you go both weekends?
-
Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
I wasn't very clear with my first post.. Those who went to both weekends, did you you find weekend 1 better than 2.
On paper i think weekend 1 was better which was the weekend i attended. I knew more people from weekend 1 in the do lab and all the people I wanted to see during weekend 2 had bad conflicts (for me at least).
If goldenvoice is so keen on keeping both weekends exactly the same why is it that they let the do lab bring two separate line ups?

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
Maybe because Do Lab is like a festival within Coachella? I don't have an answer.

You do realize that you can pretty much see any artist that plays in the Do Lab 4-5 (At Least) times a year for under $20 if you live in California, right? I know a lot of people travel in for the festival, but I don't think people coming from across the country or internationally are basing their decision on artists playing in the Do Lab. The Do Lab is more of a bonus, and the artists playing are not even listed on the poster, so Golden Voice doesn't have any obligations on keeping the lineup the same.

Re: Dirty Bird Records 2013
anyone have an idea what they're doing with the "new stage" this year? maybe something to alleviate the sahara's harsh transition to "maximal complextro and big room anthem house" that Trick is talking about.

Day 3: Arriving in Jamaica, folks had a good portion of the day to explore the island. I opted to catch up on sleep. Making my way down to the Desert Crew lecture which featured the top brass of Goldenvoice as they discussed the inner workings of Coachella. One of the noteworthy moments was the revelation that a new tent would make its debut at the next Coachella.
