yet Stagecoach is all ages. has beer gardens, but allow u to take the beer out of them. they also don't require wristbands to get into the beer garden. 5 year olds can go with their families to buy beer. Also, Stagecoach has 20x the number of underage attendees as Coachella. In my experience, they sell more beer at stagecoach then coachella, there are also way more drunks. they also have multiple types of beer and a full bar in several areas besides vip.
but then again, it's their weekend that has the rapes, the drunken horse riding, etc.. and Coachella gets blamed cuz we're all a bunch of hippie pot-smokers.
and don't get me started on how disturbing it is that the Do Lab is turned into a water playground for the little kids to play in.

I like drinking a fair amount of beer at Coachella, but I still like having the beer gardens present.

I haven't been spilled on at Treasure Island Music Festival or Outside Lands... and neither of those events are 21+.
Although I do agree that it does create a lot of trash on the ground, on the other hand that trash does get picked up by volunteers and clean up crews.
Personally I would rather be allowed to have my drink anywhere on the festival grounds.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
More shade would really be nice. That and I could go for a set of bleachers all the way in the back facing the main stage. I usually prefer to watch the headliners from back by whatever art installation is back where Gateway was last year and that giant bird thing was in 2010. The bleachers over by the Mojave and Sahara have been a godsend to me although they're kinda filthy due to Sahara scumbags hanging out there all day, but I love being able to sit back away from everyone and just watch the stages in full view.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
Look, if a parent wants to get their 5 year old drunk, who is Stagecoach to stop them? Practically anti-American.
-
Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
Just out of curiosity, what were the biggest rumors that people thought had a somewhat decent chance of being true that ended up being bullshit? Besides the usual Daft Punk etc.

The universe of possible answers to your question is pretty large.

lol.
But really, if you can manage to control yourself with it, a flask of 151 or something similarly strong can go a long way.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
Doesn't Stagecoach have different liquor laws because there is 20-25,000 fewer bodies onsite per day, curfew is 2 hours earlier and they use have as many stages?
Are drugs present, different options or non-existent at Stagecoach?

Man, I sure have. Sunday of Outside Lands this year was ridiculous. By the end of the night, I looked like I'd been carrying a red wine-filled Willy Waterbug around all day. And I hadn't drunk a drop.
The beer gardens are great as-is. I like to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

When it comes from Paul T, it should get moved from a rumor to an actual confirmation.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
Robin just informed me that Live 105 in SF is trying to rumor David Bowie. Quick, someone put it up on songkick and see how quickly it takes Rolling Stone to refer to it as a legit rumor.

I'd imagine they are doing it for attention.

The crew said they receive enough ticket requests to support more than four weekends of Coachella, but they have no plans to expand beyond two. Holy grail headliners for them still include David Bowie, Talking Heads and The Smiths (Fold would personally love to have Iron Maiden, as well). Tollett, Fold and Paige were enthusiastic about newcomers Father John Misty, who performed earlier in the afternoon. Paige said the wristband technology that has replaced paper tickets in recent years should eventually be able to work to purchase merch and beer.
Maybe next year.

Lack of beer gardens makes OSL one big hang-out, chat bar. Toward the end of the day, especially at Sutro, I couldn't hear some of the acts as all of the Silicon Valley wannabes talked up their very important job as a "coordinator" of this or that at some start-up.

I don't think I can recall one instance of this happening when I attended.

Interesting that they consider Bowie a realistic/stronger candidate than Led Zep.
GV consider Talking Heads a headliner, which has been debated here in the past.
Curious they aren't chasing Neil Young, Depeche Mode or Pearl Jam....for now.
