I'd enjoy that immensely. The show last night at the Satellite was great.

It was in their contract that they would get headliner-billing. See Outside Lands that year, where they were the "third" headliner playing a two day fest.
Kanye was by far the biggest act of the 3/4 headliners of 2011.

By far is bordering on hyperbole. Arcade Fire are in the same stratosphere as Kanye at this point.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
No they're not. I say this as one of the biggest Arcade Fire fans on this board: they are nowhere close to the "same stratosphere" of popularity as Kanye West.

How do you know it wasn't The Black Keys who filled in?

Because this has been discussed over and over on this board.

Because Radiohead and the Black Keys were signed in the late of June 2011.

And as we all know, if it's been discussed, it's been resolved:
The reunited Black Sabbath was one of the planned headliners for this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, but was forced to pull out just before yesterday's official lineup announcement due to guitarist Tony Iommi's recent lymphoma diagnosis, multiple industry sources tell Billboard.
It's unclear which artist was added as a last-minute replacement for Coachella, which will be headlined by Radiohead, the Black Keys and Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and held for the first time over two weekends (April 13-15, April 20-22) in Indio, Calif.

Show a confirmed source or shut the fuck up about you "knowing" who replaced Sabbath.

The "mod" likely already knows if this is true or not, and she doesn't really care.

I suppose it depends on how you classify stratosphere. Radio play and album sales, sure Kanye West is leagues beyond. But for a lot of the crowd at Coachella and the indie blogosphere I consider them close to equals. Both had albums in the top 5 or so of most respected websites top 10 albums of the decade. The turnout for Arcade Fire's set was absolutely massive for a Saturday night act with other sets going simultaneously. I can get why you'd say that they aren't though.

If you search here instead of being a fucking waste, you'll find confirmed sources.

You are asking too much of him. Not with searching -- he has proven he's willing to do that -- but the "instead of being a fucking waste" part may be too vast of a hill for mrhand to climb.

Source or GTFO. Not interested in wading through a thousand threads with Black in them. If it's so readily available, post it.

Sure there isn't a Monklish thread you should be monitoring but not caring about?

After googling "black sabbath coachella replacement" there is nothing in the top 7 results confirmed.

Re: 2013 Lineup Confirmation/Rumors Thread
Here's a better question, one that I have asked every time this debate has come up: why does it matter who may or may not have replaced Black Sabbath?

That's because the original source was the Billboard article, which made it clear that the replacement wasn't known. Every other article cites that.
Unless there's another mystery media source out there that evades Google's tentacles, then the "confirmed sources" must be board jackoff #36 talking about how his dad heard from his hairdresser's sister about the replacement.
Which is only "confirmed" in fantasy message board land but still a pile of bullshit in reality.
Offer still stands: SOURCE OR GTFO.
