Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
i am not discounting the power of those bands. i am only suggesting what i think will fit into GV's mold.
GWAR - NO FING WAY, even tho i would like a take-home aborted baby mold.
Slayer - nah, but maybe Sepultura?
Converge - don't know them so I cant comment
Tool - would love to see them, but i believe Puscifer is a better fit.
I could see Maiden simply because they are metal gods, but they would have to headline and that wont happen.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
How can you even call it Sepultura at this point?

I would like to see KMFDM. That would be pretty cool.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
The darkness is not a fit.... I have only been since 2010 but there has not been a band that has been any thing like the darkness however converge is one i can see and if you like hardcore music check out converge. The best band I have seen at coachella is dillenger, baroness was a little weak so overall not trying to argue with bu darkness is not a band that needs to be in this discussion.

how about The Darkness? new album "Hot Cakes" on its way.
Why do you think tool is a nogo? They are releasing a new album this fall...... and Indio is their backyard. Puscifer would suck at Coachella, seen'em a couple of times and unless your a real fan it'll bore the shit outta ya!!

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
What about Opeth? They seem to be the heavy-but-not-death-metal-heavy type that Coachella likes to grab.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
What about bands that are actually getting buzz and on the come up, you know, shit Coachella actually books?

In that case, I'd say our best bets are Torche, Liturgy and Royal Thunder.

I wouldn't discount Mastodon (latest album pushed them a little higher, they're probably top of the new wave of American metal at this point) or Baroness (tons of hype after their last album, new album coming this July and getting a bunch of press from the Pitchfork set). Hope its not Liturgy, though Torche would be great.

Reviving.
Holding out hope for the Sword, who I think would be a nice fit.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
QOTSA will prob play this year. Sabbath could be possible. I like the idea of The Sword playing, but they have a gig next month in LA, so that might rule them out. Baroness, Animals As Leaders & Tool would all be amazing as well.

Is Coachella too big for American Nightmare? Loved see them at FYF, but as we know thats a completely different line up and concept.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
I could see Black Sabbath being a headliner this year.Just from the stand point of Coachella wanting them and Black Sabbath having to pull out of the deal. Also Black Sabbath is headling a festival in 2013 so they are going do another run of festivals this summer.

Re: Heavy Metal/ Hard Rock wishlist for 2013
Fancied Biffy Clyro to have played before now,
next year's out again - they're touring elsewhere IMMSMC

I , too, request the presence of Slayer to rain blood upon the polo fields for what is Coachella. That and having Red Fang would be pretty spectacular as well.
