Sounds dumb unless they allow BYOB
It sounds like it might be a BYOB thing. I found this...

We all know there’s nothing quite like cracking open an ice cold can of beer at a festival. Watching the condensation run down the side; the feel of cold metal against your hand; the cool liquid bursting to get out and that delicious first thirst quenching mouthful.
To help make sure every beer you drink at Oxegen feels like this, Heineken are installing giant Cold Rooms in the campsites for you to check in your Heineken cans to be chilled to perfection in only 90 minutes for free!
When you arrive at Oxegen, keep an eye out for our team who will be on hand with wheelbarrows to carry your Heineken to the closest Cold Room location, if you don’t come across them, don’t worry, you can drop in up to a crate yourself anytime throughout the festival till 2AM. Remember there will be no cans for sale at the Cold Rooms, so you can bring your own from any off licence near or far.
90 minutes is all it takes for your Heineken ready to be served extra cold. Your fingerprint will be your receipt which means no one else can get your chilled Heineken. You can collect your deposited cans from 12pm to 2am all weekend long from the same cold room location they were deposited in.
Good god. INSTEAD OF BUYING OUR SHITTY BEER IN HERE, YOU CAN BRING IN OUR SHITTY BEER FROM THE OUTSIDE AND WE'LL PUT IT IN THE FRIDGE FOR YOU!
Sounds like a campground thing
So they can track how much you drink through your thumbprint.
I'll be choppin off fingers when I go broke and thirsty.
Dope
I wonder if it's Heineken only
I wouldn't want any beer to be ice cold BUT Heineken, for the crap taste it has...your not really killing off any flavor. It's kind of like drinking an ice cold bottle of water.
Heineken is only good cold.
I can drink most dark beers at cellar temp.
I'm bringing a blender...blended gritas and pineapple drinks. Sangria and canned coronas during day.
Double IpA at night.
Fuck Heineken and they finger prints
This is so fucking stupid.
stupid, but hey fuck it, an ice cold keg can for free as opposed to $9 has its perks
OMG. FIRST TRACKING WITH THE REGISTERED WRISTBANDS, NOW FINGER PRINTS FOR BEER?
Sounds Delicious... But I won't be drinking Heineken unless I am forced to buy it in the festival cuz I am too lazy and drunk to go back to the campsite.. Why limit the storage to only Heineken??
Seriously why the fuck do you guys bitch about everything? There's no downside to this at all, don't use it if you don't want to.
Sounds like you can bring whatever beer you want and store it. Coachella probably gets paid a shitload by Heineken for this branding, and the prosperity of GV/Chella is a good thing, so calm down whether or not you personally decide to utilize it.Quote:
Important items to pack for Coachella: sunscreen, water, beer. With Heineken Cold Storage, you can store your beer at the campgrounds and access it anytime with nothing but your thumbprint.
Because bitching is our middle name.
hmmmmm this sounds wired
whoever is manning these cold storage stations is probably drinking your heineken all day long then refilling with water.
standing in line to get my beer that i brought sounds sooooo awesome
Now if they had music and women dancing on poles in these cold storage rooms we'd have a different story!
and that manning pic just about killed me.
Why spend money on ice when you could pay us to lock your beer up!!?
sounds like its only for the camp grounds . and only shitty hinekin beer
It says store your beer at the campgrounds but never says campers only. hmmmmmmmmmmm
Heard a Coachella and Heineken radio commercial for this.
This is a very cool idea. I doubt they will have real fingerprint scanners - I mean: like 24 hour fitness, laptop or phone fingerprint security the scan only takes sequenced similarities of your finger-print not of the entire print. If this makes sense.
Also, a nice guaranteed cold beer after the show is always an option and by the end of the day I don't really care what I am drinking as long as it's a) cold, b) can get the dust ball out of my throat from walking back to camp or wherever and c) alcohol in my system.
I really want to know how this turns out so if someone could snap a photo of it and post here after either Coachella is over that would be great.
If its closer to the entrance than my campground Ill definitely drop a case in there. Beats paying $6 a beer or walking all the way back to the campsite if its right by the entrance to the festival.
