if they were to interfere
who would you watch ?
Heh. Is this a joke thread?
E
one of them will be opening up for the other...probably Arcade Fire opening up for RHCP...but i think i speak for the rest of the people when I say that people will be watching Arcade Fire over RHCP.
they're not gonna interfere...they'll be on the same stage.
red hot much better
Oh André. *shakes head*
AF. Duh.
Um, was this a serious question? Isn't that kind of like asking "If Neutral Milk Hotel reunited and were playing the same show as Kenny G.....who would you check out?"
damn it was just a question......fuck you all
Being that I am infatuated with Arcade Fire and have disliked RHCP for a little over 10 years now, I would prefer Arcade Fire, however that is not in any way an attempt to belittle anybody that says they would choose RHCP, it is their own opinion. Thankfully for people who may have this toss up both of the bands will be playing one after another on the main stage.
Comparing RHCP to Kenny G just shows how ignorant you are.
You may not like The Chili Peppers, but they are extremely talented musicians. Most people here were probably big fun up untill Blood Sugar Sex Magik I bet. In fact, I know atleast 50% liked the Chili Peppers until then! And another 35% are going to watch them no matter what they play.
Where do I know these statistics? Check this poll I made.

That should clear up that the Chili Peppers are in fact, not a joke. I am excited to see them again, and I would probably choose them over The Arcade Fire.
Neither. Tiesto or MSTRKRFT.
please don't go with Tiesto...MSTRKRFT is can't miss
ARCADE FIRE, duh
Ill take RHCP over any artist at coachella - the instrumental talent of frusciante and flee is superior to any artists at coachella . . . . . . . but i still love arcade fire
Fuck all this arrogance. I'll be watching RHCP; I don't give a damn how hip people think Arcade Fire are. If they're still playing Coachella in 10 years, then they've put together a career.
You guys are lame! Is it "cool" to like Indie rock or something, the Arcade Fire are good, but there is no way I would miss the Chili Peppers. That being said, it dosen't make me "cooler" or "hipper" to like the Chili's, it's just my preference. Most of these "Indie" fans are phonies, they dress as though they buy their clothes at thrift shops and look homeless, but they drive BMW's or Benzo's. I know what I'm talking about, I live in Echo Park and it's flooded with phonies. It's all good if you prefer the Arcade over the Chili's, but don't act as though they're the best band in the world. Please.
From the EW review of Neon Bible
"Arcade Fire, a septet from Montreal, have established themselves as one of the world's great bands "

Not that it matters especially coming from EW. I just thought it was funny.
It not that we're trying to be hip. We just think the peppers had stopped making interesting music several Albums ago. I think they're talented as hell but all the new material bores me. Arcade Fire for me.
I'm sick of all this bashing on Kenny G
As I said before, it's comparing apples to oranges....you have the RHCP, great in their day, but honestly just a bunch of talented musicians surrounding a washed up tone deaf Kedis who can't play anything or even write lyrics that aren't redundant or about California (hopping around onstage wearing clothes too young for him). Then you have Arcade Fire, one of the best live bands in the world today (if not the best), full of youthful energy, in their prime, with 9 people onstage swapping instruments, beating the shit out of eachother, performing with their heart and soul. There is no choice.
Not to mention, there won't even be a choice because they're playing the same god damn stage right next to eachother. Why are we even discussing this?
I'm sure Arcade Fire will lead into RHCP, despite being very different bands with very different fanbases. I have to wonder if this was intentional, to make even more people into AF fans. They'll obviously have a huge crowd regardless, but I'm sure there will be a ton of people there to see strictly the Chili Peppers who'll be forced to see AF. And I can't imagine many people not enjoying an AF show. This will be great for Arcade Fire, they're the real beneficiaries.
