This. Although, it IS pretty fun having a girlfriend who loves music and going to concerts as much as I do. Although Heather hates '80s music, which is very distressing to me on a daily basis.

Do you mean 80s like Husker Du, or 80s like Cyndi Lauper? This makes a difference.

I have a huge love for synth pop and things like Phil Collins, etc which she does not appreciate. She's a big punk/alt fan.

For me the 80s are the best but my hubby loves Metal. When you put the CDs on shuffle in our house you could hear just about anything. But I've developed an appreciation for Iron Maiden and Monster Magnet.

Drinkey, I love that it's distressing for you that your girlfriend won't listen to Cyndi and Phil Collins.

Not being a pussy is actually more important than being thin. Unless you're like 500lbs.

All is good on that front. We have gone to classes together, etc. I'll be in the delivery room, too.

Your gf has better taste than you do.

Completely true.

Stop worrying about what women want. All they want is your dick and you are the keeper of paradise.

I'm not a pussy, I'm not gonna have random hookups either.
I have a date set for a show in Jan. Could be ok.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
You're not going to have any hookups with that attitude. Look, dumbfuck, women aren't out there scouring the planet for a nice guy who wants to settle down. They're all over the place, any time she wants one. Grow a pair.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Useful advice. Women would rather fuck around than settle down, so stop looking what you're looking for since you won't get it, and start looking for the last thing in the world you want.
Now I remember why I stopped posting in this thread.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
No, women want to settle down, but not with a guy who wants to settle down.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Well I am at least going on dates now. So far nothing great has come of it. Still more potential than when I was doing nothing. "Making a move" on date one is still repulsive to me though, so if people on these boards are right, I won't get anywhere by doing this.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
You making a move on any date is pretty repulsive.

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Puritan America, this is your legacy.
Not being a predatory creep is a good thing. Being so afraid of sex that making a move is considered "repulsive" is an issue.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
You are an idiot.
This has nothing to do with "Puritan America"
I have been through my reasons before. No need to reiterate.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
He has a point, Icey.
If you think that sex and affection are naturally "repulsive" women are going to pick up on it, and nobody wants to be made to feel that way by a hypothetical sexual partner.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
with internet dates, i rarely want any sort of "moves" on a first date. i'm not repulsed by it, i'm just at a phase in my life where i want to get to know someone first.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
I don't think sex and affection are naturally repulsive.
I don't like when people only want physical action, it signals to me that they don't value me as a person whatsoever, and are a waste of my time.
-
Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
Your life is yours, I don't give a fuck what you do with it. I just don't see finding natural sexual urges "repulsive" as being healthy.

... okay seriously now--has anyone EVER given you that signal? Seriously?

Re: It Rubs The Lotion On Its Skin: A Thread About Dating
If you recall, this whole shitfest of a discussion of my (lack of) love life started because I was dissatisifed with being a virgin, i.e. not having sex. Yes I want to have sex but under certain conditions.
I also have some issues to overcome, namely, any time a woman approaches me in public I think the worst and get offended. There are a good handful of stories where I was being hit on and thought the girl was just being a bitch for no reason, but didn't figure it out until later (i.e. when someone told me, "That girl was totally into you, what's your problem?". Yes I should figure out how to change that. No, this board cannot help me with that.
I have a date coming up and hopefully it doesn't suck. The end.
Edit: Randy, yes, but not often
