Epic Skate Shoes From Past And Present
Since most my skate buddies have moved on or don't skate anymore, there isn't a lot of people to discuss how awesome some of the shoes made for skating are. I'd like to start with how awesome a certain pair of Axion's were. it was the original pair of Guy Marianos. those had a great aesthetic to them. i would even go as far as to say that his last pro model for them was equally as awesome. anyone else have a favorite pair that they have bought over and over or still have?

I've got 5 pairs of Vision Street Wear right now. I loved their products in the 80's and I love them now. Very comfortable and they last through alot of abuse.

I thought this was about those shoes with wheels.
Re: Epic Skate Shoes From Past And Present
the original kostons were pretty amazing as well. had those and the marc johnsons for like 4 years straight, i still have a pair of emerica johnsons but the ones the brought back and called the OGs. now im pretty much just a nike whore.
Re: Epic Skate Shoes From Past And Present
Okay, maybe I'm going to show my age or how long I've been skating but...
I loved the Converse Cons mid tops that Natas Kaupas and Rodney Mullen wore. Every time I got a new pair I swore I could ollie an extra 3 inches. While everyone else wore Vans that stained the toes of your socks or Chucks that bruised your heals, B-ball shoes were where it was at. I heard the Jordan 1's were great, but my mom wouldn't pay $100 to ruin a pair of shoes.
AIrwalk NTS's were awesome even though the ad had two different colored shoes, in order to get that, you had to get two pairs. I also got a pair of the Bowling shoes they have but I never skated in them.
As far as modern skate shoes go, I've always been a DC guy up until they sold out to Quiksilver. I got the 1st Colin McKays, Rudy Johnsons, Dyrdek 1&2, Syntec, Way 4's, Cosmos, and Embarko's and I know I'm missing a few others. Most people don't realize that DC shaped modern footwear.
I now am a slave to Sole Technologies. I've only wear Es or Etnies. I guess it started with the Mike V's. Then the Ronnie Craggers and now the Ryan Shecklers which I have two pairs that I currently rock. I also have 4 pairs of Lo Cut Golf shoes that I bought at the Camarillo Outlets. One pair that I wear on the course, one that I wear to work(after I took the spikes out) and two on ice.
Re: Epic Skate Shoes From Past And Present
Early 90s - vision, airwalk, Nike force
Mid 90s- vans, addidas
Late 90s-Etnies (sal barbier 23, mc rap, skol)
Es(kostons,accel) Axion (Kareem Campbell)
2000s-vans, Es(Rynolds 1,2), I path
Anything with gum soles and natural colors always did it. I loved the accel because of the thick tounge.

God, yes, those were great shoes.
EDIT: Good call on the Kareem Campbells, goat, I had those in white with blue trim. Shit was clean.
Re: Epic Skate Shoes From Past And Present
I always preferred the Koston 2's compared to the original ones. Also the Rowley 3's for Vans were pretty awesome.
