British or US tracklists?
British or US tracklists?
Does anyone here have the Massive Attack Mezzanine reissue, and is it worth the ridiculous price tag?
Yes, I have it. Very good. Amazon Canada has (or had) European pressed copies in stock.
-edit- Holy cow ..... seems to be sold out everywhere. Dang.
Yup. And it's a good question. Personally, I'm always torn when it comes to this. For example, UK Rubber Soul has "Drive My Car" and "Nowhere Man" but not "I've Just Seen a Face." I go back & forth. UK Revolver, however, is the far superior version to me.
stupid record companies.
I know millions of Americans grew up on the Capitol versions but to me, The Beatles should me listened to as George Martin produced them. Just my opinion.
I just think they should be heard in whichever way sounds better overall. For Rubber Soul there's a strong argument to be made for the US press, as the way it arranges songs makes for a stronger, more fullfilled sounding release. I'd agree with Greg.
Doc Daneeka - Walk On In
Sean Sanders - Nervous Job EP
Tiger & Woods - Tool Kit for Winter Fitness
Ital - Workshop 18
Yellow Eyes - The Desert Mourns
Their label: http://www.sibirrecords.com/. I believe there were only 100 US copies and 100 Euro copies though.
Still in stock through the Danish label they partnered with: http://deadsection.dk/store/?product...-12-us-edition
Thanks for the link. I'll have to wait on that for a bit: shipping is a bitch, but if they still have it when I have extra money, they apparently also have the album from last year, which was just phenomenal.
Definitely get both if you can. It is well worth it. Ordering from overseas sucks, but at least doing it in bulk takes a bit of the sting out.
Yeah, I'm just hoping they'll have them when I get my next (substantially larger) paycheck, one that doesn't have to go almost completely to renewing my registration and bar license.
Thrift store today:
Hank Williams - 40 Greatest Hits
The Supremes - Live at the Copa
Count Basie - Greatest Hits
Herbie Hancock - Sunlight
Rod Stewart - Gasoline Alley (and I get home to find that the previous owner kept his copy of Sing It Again Rod in the same jacket. Two for one!)
Gherkin Jerks - Stomp the Beat
Gherkin Jerks - 1990
Plez - Can't Stop
DJ Rashad - I Don't Give a Fuck
Glenn Branca - Lesson No. 1
Drexciya - Journey of the Deep Sea Dweller II
VA - L.I.E.S. presents: Music for Shut-Ins
My Branca should show up on Monday. So stoked to have that one to pair with The Ascension.
I slept on that reissue of Ascension...are there still copies available anywhere?
I suppose I could just go on Discogs and figure that out for myself.
Nevermind, found it easy enough. Ordered.
It's totally worth whatever you paid for it. They did a great job with the pressing.
Got it direct from the label for $25 w/ shipping. Stoked.
I will report back shortly with the verdict on the repress of Lesson No. 1.
Bryan, Lesson No. 1 sounds and looks great. Still need to listen to the new track with Thurston Moore/Lee Ranaldo on the extra plate, but the original EP sounds awesome.
Ovens - Ovens
It may be easier to just list the CDs/LPs you have not bought.
Hahaha. I don't have many other hobbies.
I am selling a bunch of records that I don't want anymore. I'm listing most of them for sale on Discogs as well. If you want more information, feel free to PM me for details/make offers/whatever. Should someone want to buy something, I would prefer to go through Discogs so I can start getting some seller feedback on there.
Here is what I have listed for the time being. I'll be adding more when I feel motivated. All are LPs. Some selections might disappear as I relisten to things if I decide I want to keep them, but the odds of that are pretty slim.
