Re: Official CD/LP purchases thread
I paid $7 for the Missy record. Cover is a bit messed up but the vinyl looks good. I'm stoked to finally own the Black Flag record.
I'm mostly excited about the jungle records. You never see that shit around here and to come up on the Grooverider album, Metalheadz box, Bukem 12" and the DJ Krush 12"s was huge. I'm also excited about the two Juan Atkins records.

Was in Washington DC so I went to Som Records based off of a yelp search. picked up...
Love and Rockets - Express
Einsturzende Neubauten - Drawings of OT
and while I was looking through the Jazz section I saw a mono recording of a live performance of Coltrane and Dolphy. Picked it up on principle for $6 and now it looks like its worth some money. I cant find any info on it on discogs, but it is exactly this record.....http://www.dolphin-bbs.net/dynaduo.htm
While looking on popsike I found a copy that was sold for $450 that was exactly the same except with a slightly different picture on the cover. ( http://www.popsike.com/John-Coltrane...622503619.html) Anyone know anything about this? If it really is that valuable I'd like to sell it.

Re: Official CD/LP purchases thread
where was it pressed? and what color is the label on the wax.....???
-
Re: Official CD/LP purchases thread
Very little info on it because I think it is a bootleg recording of a radio broadcast. It says Ozone 10 and the color of the label on the wax is greenish. it says ralio kyabare ongaku in a banner on the top and " Juyo Rajio Proguramu! Rare Broadcast Performances" at the bottom.

You live in LA, right? Maybe call/take it to Atomic Records; those guys know a lot about jazz. EDIT - one of the guys who works there also goes to Japan a lot to buy, and since "Juyo Rajio Proguramu" sounds Japanese he might be a good person to ask.

Here is some more info on it - (if this is the same one)
John Coltrane - That Dynamic Jazz Duo! (Ozone 10)
John Coltrane (soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone) Eric Dolphy (alto saxophone, bass clarinet, flute) McCoy Tyner (piano) Jimmy Garrison (bass) Elvin Jones (drums)
"Birdland", NYC, February 9, 1962
- Mr. P.C.
- Miles' Mode (The Red Planet)
- My Favorite Things
** also issued on Session Disc 114 entitled "Hooray For John Coltrane". Affinity (E) AFF 79 entitled "Live At Birdland Featuring Eric Dolphy".
Just from a bit of research it looks as if it was only pressed in the US and Japan. The US version goes for anywhere from $25 - $60, but the Japanese one is deff worth a lot more. Great find.

It's badass. The US version was only pressed on picture disc, so I tracked down a US seller with the European version. It's really bass-y and full of satan. I love it.

Re: Official CD/LP purchases thread
Wow. Really? I would have played that at record club if I'd known. I may have to look deeper through my collection for next week.
I've been really good! I haven't purchased any records in ages! (The Aphex Twin ones were ones I'd pre-ordered in September or October).
