Metallica recordings aren't allowed on DIME (they are allowed The Trader's Den I believe for recordings that aren't commercially available) - in any case, Metallica releases live recordings of all their shows for sale anyway on livemetallica.com (I just recorded them for the hell of it that night).

as I recall that generally inspired MORE piracy of Metallica. but DIME's policy with anything commercially available makes sense. I guess their policy even extends to distinct recordings of shows that are commercially available?

Anything that is, or has been, commercially available is a no go on DIME. Even if it was just one song off some odd compilation back in the early 90's...it still means that any recording of that track(s) from that particular show can't be uploaded...and to be extra safe, DIME issued all out bans on certain bands being uploaded (Metallica, Nirvana, etc). I understand why they do it. Better safe than sorry.

Jesus Christ, another 10,000 + gate crashers would be a logistical nightmare.

Guess its the only way they could be able to keep the ticket price the same. Im sure deciding between adding more people or raising ticket prices was a quick vote.

10,000 more. ouch. not interested in that.

On the bright side they are going to have to have another stacked line-up to support the extra ticket sales.

Any speculations on headliners this year? I'll start the rumor mill with Pearl Jam.

I think the first repeat headliner is going to be Dave Matthews Band not Pearl Jam. Unless if they decide to ditch the Jam Band headliner completely.

Thats possible, but I also think they scraped the jam band thing in 2012 unless you are counting NY & CH as a Jam band.

How the hell are they gonna accomodate 10,000 more people? Is their any room to expand the festival grounds without bulldozing trees?

My thoughts exactly. Going from stage to stage late in the day is already pretty tough.

fucking hell...2013 is gonna be brutal. ALREADY thought it was wayyy too jammed, now we get 10,000 more people in the Park. fuck.

Gotta agree though, if they think they can sell 10k more tickets they must feel pretty comfortable about being able to score some big names

I think if they relocated the entrance on the JFK side away from the sutro stage and also moved beer lands and the comedy tent to a more central location ( kinda between the polo fields and the panhandle stage that it would clear up paths a bit.
