Ty Segall

He was fantastic at FYF Fest. Would love to see him in the Mojave or Gobi.

EDIT* Has he played Coachella before?

I don't recall him ever playing Coachella. I liked the album, but was never wild about it. I came away so impressed after his FYF set. Support.

Yes, I've loved him on record for a bit now, but after seeing him this weekend, SIGNED.

You guys need to see them in a club. In particular, the next one he plays up here.

I saw him for a few songs at OSL and wasn't as blown away as you all seem to have been at FYF. of course i didn't see the whole set. i like the idea of a club venue for this band.

Of the 6 or so Ty Segall sets I've caught, the OSL set was the one I liked least, mostly because it took *him* (not the band, just him) a while to get into it. Something was just missing...perhaps it was nerves. But, it got going pretty good at the end when he started whipping out the killer jams from Melted and Lemons. Shame you missed that.

yeah, my buddy stuck around for the whole set and said that he wailed at the end too. i left for fogerty.

Snap. Just realized that he's playing here next week. Yessssss!

Love Ty Segall & love that everyone is coming around to him. He deserves it. Fully support.

Saw them open up for Monotonix in Vancouver a year or so back. They put on a good show then... but were blown out of the water by Monotonix. Have they gotten that much better live?

EDIT: Not that they were bad. They weren't. They were pretty good actually, but they certainly were not amazing.

Well, Monotonix is way better. Ty Segall isn't AMAZING, but they're very good and I think they would be a good daytime act at Coachella. We need another "Greatest Scheduling Ever (Sunday Mojave 2009)" and they would be good to kick it off or play, say, when Fucked Up played.

It's undeniable that Montonix put on a better show... that's pretty much where it ends with that band though. I mean, do people actually listen to Monotonix records? Ty Segall's music is good outside of a live setting.

The mojave on Sunday of 09 was the greatest scheduling Coachella has ever done. No Age-> Fucked Up-> Brian Jonestown Massacre was perfect.

Never forget. I remember laying in the grass when it was all over and just basking in the glory of all those beautiful sets we had just been a part of.

I remember after Throbbing Gristle, Bryan, Patrick and I saw Damian (of Fucked Up), so we went to go talk to him and he gave us all hugs and thanked us for checking out their set.

NEVER FORGET.

But yeah, I could definately see Ty Segall as part of a killer noise/punk tent at Coachella next year.

Hah. I liked their first EP when I first heard it... but their 2 albums werent very good. Didn't take away from the experience of their live set though.

They were awesome at FYF. Definitely was enveloped by a huge dust cloud because of the pit....worth it.

i've seen ty three times this year. fyf was the least impressive showing, and it was still fantastic.

support 100%....bring thee oh sees and royal baths as well.
