hm. it turns out that third song they played is unreleased - museums of consciousness. no wonder I couldn't identify it afterwards.
im glad everyone had a good time. I hope yall dont hate me when I say I didnt really like it...
Yea... I thought it was just OK. I don't remember the dancers being as weird in person as they look in that picture though.
I don't remember smelling DMT (or smoke in general) at Shpongle, though in retrospect that is what I kept smelling at SBTRKT on Thursday night.
Ghost Ship was... interesting. I think I was too sober. I feel like I spent a few hours wandering from room to room trying to find music I wanted to dance to.
What didn't you guys like about Shpongle?
^seriously..?
that was so much better than trentemoller... haha, not even a contest.
i'll say that i felt like they were sluggish and rusty to begin with.. but that 2 and a half hours was nothing short of a grand spectacle.
Cara, I didn't say I didn't like it, it just actually wasn't that substantially different (to me) than Shpongletron and I was a tiny bit bored after the first 45 minutes or so. I also felt like everyone in that venue was waayyy more messed up than me. ;)
Different strokes for different folks and all that.
You thought about it (sobriety) too much instead of just focusing on the stage and music???
Oh, weird. It was so different sounding and visual wise than the Shpongletron set I saw at Bonnaroo (which was kind of a snore).
Chia translation: not enough untz.
heyyyyaaaa......

^ incredible pics, esp the last one imo
here's a video i took..i think the only full-length one that was worth uploading. i kinda wish i was further back so i could see more of the stage without always moving the camera around but whatever..it's got good sound (thank god the dumb bitch behind me who wouldn't shut up through this ENTIRE song's voice wasn't picked up) and it's in hd :)
there were defffinitely some trippers haha... my group was flyin high off raja's flute only. I wanted to remember this night. ^pics and videos are really great...
gotta say though, simon did was he does in his dj sets all the time, wave his hands around... meanwhile, the guy actually using his guitar was killing it, so it worked out. pretty excited to hear shpongle jam out a few times.
so great to see everyone's faces too. Been too long.
ahhh damn how i wish i could go back. So how was ghost ship everybody?? any awesome stories?
^end up at freaker's ball?
what a sloppy smelly crowded show that ended up being. haha.
We left Ghost Ship a few minutes before 4 and the crowd had thinned out but I doubt it got shut down right at 4 as scheduled. We didn't make it off the island until closer to 5 and there were still people by the venue.
It was.. interesting. I'm not really sure what to make of it. :) Liked the Pink Mammoth area a lot (though it was so very crowded most of the night). The Space Cowboys section I thought was aesthetically the nicest but didn't care for the music as much. There was a lot more to do than I'd expected (meaning a LOT of stages).
That show was awesome, still putting all the pieces together but that was fucking great! The dj set I saw, I was not impressed at all but live brought out everything that was missing imo....
