Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
Seriously, fuck this guy. I like his music but he's a dick when it comes to live shows. When I was volunteering for Rock the Bells in 09 he gave the people who booked them such a headache by showing up over an hour late and pretty much causing a mini riot at the stage he was supposed to play at. Fans were pissed and shit was thrown on stage.

Isn't that half of Rock the Bells? I have seen that shit a lot

You must be thinking this was one time thing that only happened at Rock the Bells 09 but it's not. He does this at almost every fucking show and will most likely pull this shit off at Coachella.
And the times he does play a set it's either some impostor or he fucking lipsyncs. Why the fuck would someone lipsync their rap at a live show? What the fuck are fans even paying for when they see him live? Is it to see guy walking around with a mask pretending to rap? He has zero stage presence.
Here's a clip from his RTB 07 set... fuckin LAAAAME.

Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I saw him live at the TLA in philly with Brother Ali back in 2004 or 2005. He was absolutely terrible. He is a fraud, for years he was paying a guy to fill in for him at concerts. Hes really fucked up in the head, he really thinks hes a real life villain. Hes a real life schizo.
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
He is black! They are known to rob people
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I can't wait for both of these releases.
The upcoming DOOM/Jneiro Jarel collaboration-- under the name JJ DOOM-- will apparently feature Damon Albarn and Portishead's Beth Gibbons on a track. "Just did a song with Beth of Portishead and Damon Albarn!", Jarel tweeted this weekend, as Consequence of Sound points out. The album, called Keys to the Kuffs, was originally scheduled for a May release through Lex Records, but that seems unlikely at this point.

The single from Oh No's album Ohnomite is the DOOM track "3 Dollars", pressed on 5-inch vinyl. Stones Throw will have copies of these shipping by June 11th. CD & 2LP copies of the album Ohnomite are shipping now.
The label Five Day Weekend is making the 5-inch single available with two covers, the first with Oh No and Doom on either side of the record. The second cover will have the images superimposed. The illustration is by Charles Munka, design by Jeff Jank.

Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I want this to happen now simply because I met kreutz and he was a pretty cool guy. That is all...
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I saw MF Doom with Brother Ali in Philly around 2004. He sucked so bad! He just stood around, didn't move. He showed no emotion. I think it was an impostor .

Imposter DOOM > the black keys
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I've seen doom twice. He did the same thing both times, but I was expecting it the second time. People were losing their minds because he only did five tracks. He's the villian. I really dig it... He's got an amazing interview on Red Bull Music Academy.
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
he's nothing but an amazing studio artist, he can't perform to save his life...I wouldn't go out of my way to see his set at all.
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
I think he could perform if he wanted to, but think of all the free press that dude gets doing what he does. I'm not a huge fan of live hip hop though. Live from Planet X though is a sick album, but I can't tell if he faked a live show or not.

I don't know whether to like or hate what he does with his live shows. I haven't seen him so I can't say anything personal about it but I would be pissed if I drove 2 hours, booked a hotel and paid 25 for a ticket to be 'ripped off'
Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
It's pretty funny to watch white kids who idolize doom freak the fuck out after he bolts.

Re: BRING MF DOOM TO COACHELLA
Yeah I saw him at the El Rey like 4 or 5 years ago. Blu opened which was pretty legit, but Doom did like 5 songs and bounced cuz he didnt like the crowd. He did benzi box and fazers though and man did they bang.
