The pilot episode was really good and it got me to download the comic issues. Issue 51 was so painful to read, it felt like someone knocked the wind out of me. Wow.
I am extremely glad that this is being so well received. I suggest reading the comics if you enjoyed the show because the comics are fantastic. They will not be able to do some of the fucked up shit that happens in the comics. I could not stop reading them and eagerly await ever new issue. You get so attached to the characters.

I did not like it. It took every zombie trope there is and just mish-mashed them together into an unconvincing pile of glop. BAD ACTING. The make-up and effects were good, but how could they not be? No one seemed genuinely scared or upset. I liked the very beginning up until the main guy met people.

I bought the first episode through Amazon On Demand last night. Wow, it's so much better than I could have hoped!
I read book one about a month ago and they not only follow it very well in the show, but I think the changes that were made are pretty inspired as well.
Whenever I read the comics now, I make sure to hum The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore, or it just doesn't work for me.

I watched this before bed last night and I had a dream that I was in bed wondering if my roommate got bit by anyone if she would tell me or if she would just come eat me in the middle of the night. I made her promise this morning to tell me if anyone ever bites her.

They got to about the middle of issue 2 in the first episode. I have a feeling they will get through to the end up Book 1, which is the first 12 issues. The ending of that book would be a nice way to end the season, but I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's judge after the episode this week.

Great news! I will be purchasing ep #2 tomorrow night
so how many additional issues did they get through in Episode 2? I read the series via the compendium (first 48 or 60 issues i think...) so not really sure where each of the "books" starts. The TPBs have 6 issues each.
they got through the first two... but also jumped ahead and took some stuff from later issues (rubbing the guts in order to disguise themselves)...
anyone else curious how much of the Governor stuff makes it in? it has been pretty graphic so far, but I just can't see that whole segment making it in uncensored.
