ahhh! they were great! -the fucking crowd by the gate, those yorke fans had nothing but negative comments regarding bradford's appearance, dicks. BUT they rocked it to no surprise I just wish the people were more into it around me (expect this cool guy with long blonde hair behind me that was singing along with me and jumping, you rocked! thanks!) and the spoon cameo?? and hazel st! yes! wonderful wonderful
They were great. it was a lot more rockin' and fuzzed out then i expected. I loved the impromptu Coachella song about everybody getting pregnant while they had power issues.
haha yes! I forgot about that! he always does the best improvised songs i love it. I saw him as atlas sound and he had us all clapping yelling "a good man a good man a good man's hands" while he sang about rogue hamstersQuote:

Yeah that was a pretty good set. I was totally impressed by how tight they sounded. Does anyone know that (new?) song they played in the later half of the set...I looked up the setlist and some people have it listed as Helicopter? It sounded so good.
Oh yea, were their power problems affecting any effects on some songs?
Yeah that last new one was called "Helicopter."
The Coachella 2010 song was one of my favorite moments of the weekend and one of my favorite Bradford moments I ever saw. Overall that was probably my least enjoyed set I saw from them (my 4th), on account of the time and location and my fatigue, but it was still fantastic and in my top five of the festival. They were much better in broad daylight than I would have guessed, and the breeze from the west that ran through "Hazel St" and "NEH" was fuckin' perfect. The new songs also sounded way better to me the second time I heard them.
I don't remember any power problems. But the Outdoor is always a poor place for sound. It was expectedly crumby for them, but it still did the job and I heard everything except Lockett's vocals (who are better muddy anyway).
It was my first time seeing them...I'll have to definitely check them out at their own shows.Quote:

LOVED the improv song. The guys were great despite their power issues.
They were freaking great, Lockett was having issues with both his mic and pedals, which they fixed promptly while giving us a hilarious impromptu Coachella song... so I was actually glad they had issues. I have about 100 photos from up front that I'll be posting soon, although I wish I would have recorded the funny track.
I'm a huge York fan but I love Deerhunter. I didn't notice any hate for them. They were stupendous. The highlight for me had to be when they had sound problems and Bradford improved his "Coachella 2010 Tribute".Quote:

I'm thinking this was my 9th Deerhunter show, and they were predictably right on. It was definitely better than the past few times I've seen them: they're getting the jamminess down better live than they used to.
The jam in Nothing Ever Happened is probably the best I heard at coachella.
I liked when Bradford's sunglasses fell off because he was jamming so hard.

deerhunter was great! i was pleasantly surprised by their set, as i had never seen them live before. & the bassist was such a bo$$ all smoking while playing and shit
