you got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one.
Seeing Jay-Z instead of Fever Ray would be so stupid.
seeing anything else would be a win.
As much as it pains me to agree with amy, I'm not hearing anything but hype with fever ray. the music i've heard is dull dull dull.
Just out of curiosity, do you like The Knife?
The Knife have some good songs. They're no LCD Soundsystem or anything though.
I do not like Karin's voice and her lyrics could have been written by a kindergartner. All the cool beats and wicked lasers and creepy costumes in the world can't change that. "Concrete Walls" is the only Fever Ray track I like, probably because of the heavy vocal effects.
Different strokes, Matt.
And I didn't say Karin's voice sucks...I said I don't like it. There's a difference.
Completely agree about the lyrics. It's a really uneven album and doesn't come close to Silent Shout, but it's got a couple of really good songs and plenty of atmosphere to spare, which I go for. I wish the rest of it was as good as "If I Had A Heart." Her set seems like it would be very memorable.
Had to defend Fever Ray from your attacks. :)
Fever Ray is neither good enough nor bad enough to inspire such a fierce split here. It's not like we're talking about some utter garbage like MBV, guys.
I like The Knife Silent Shout. The tracks with her voice kind of annoy me though.
i really wish her voice sounded more like it does during you take my breath away by the knife on other tracks.
:bump
I think the extended curfew may have opened things up.
There are tracks in which her voice is more prominent, and I can't fully enjoy those. It also bugs me that her vocal style reminds me of someone, and I CAN'T THINK WHO IT IS.
Joni Mitchell?
nope.
Bjork with less of an accent.
I thought it might be Bjork, but I'm not entirely sure. I still think it might be someone else. Maybe it's that chick from Ruby, or some other girl from an obscure British band.
don't feel like embedding:

I can kinda see Bjork, but Karin doesn't have Bjork's vocal control.
Oh she's not nearly as good of a singer but she does have that lit to her voice.
I listened to Silent Shout last night and I was reminded of Bjork.
Fever Ray is amazing live. I didn't get the hype when one of our photographers was RAVING to no end after seeing Fever Ray open for Royksopp in London and after I gave their album its initial spins. The album grew on me and decided to check them out before their L.A. show. Once I saw Fever Ray at the Glass House in Pomona (near the front, center), I HAD to see them again at the Fonda in Los Angeles (Which was sold out and the day after Pomona). I got in when the photographer's sister flaked and I got the extra ticket. This time I was in the back but still a great show. The YouTube clips are nostalgic but does no way represent what the live show was like being there seeing it for yourself. You don't have stand in the front with all the board people but at least chill for a song, give it a chance and check it out. It was a great show from both angles and probably your last chance to see them as Fever Ray before Karin goes back to doing The Knife. Just sayin'.
No thanks.
If Amy doesn't want to see Fever Ray, who besides Amy gives a shit?
You should still prepare yourself for some Fever Ray video playing in the house on Thursday night/Friday morning. Fair warning. :)
