Is anyone planning to get to Coachella 2013 in Indio, CA?
No, it's too far to drive.

Muse - March 16th at United Airways. Bought tickets on Friday. Anyone else going?

Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
I put in a request for free suite seats through my work.
Also, XX just announced at the Marquee
-
Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
that'd be rad, if it's big and you need people, i'd prolly be interested in pitching in on a suite. i've seen muse enough for one lifetime, but i'd go for a suite and some coachella partying :)

They're free seats through my work (we get a suite since our name is on the building). It's a nice setup--usually food and booze.
I won't know until about a week before the show; she usually just emails me if there are tickets left and asks me how many I want. I'll put you on my list.

We are driving there from Tucson. It's a Saturday night. Any recommendations on what to do/where to drink before the show?

SCORE.
...although I probably won't feel like going the Monday after Coachella. Oh well.

i personally love the arrogant butcher. walking distance, caddy-corner (sp?) from the venue. it can be hard to get a table on a show night, but you can get food at the bar. there are a few other restaurants downtown others could recommend. you can park in that "city center" or "city scape" or something, where the arrogant butcher is located too. lots of shops and stuff there if you want to walk around. enjoy the show :)

TY TY. So parking in "city scape" is credited for US Airways? I will definitely check out that bar beforehand.

Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
you should plan to pay for parking. you can get some validation at arrogant butcher, but it is hard to find free parking (empty meters) for shows since they close off all the meters near the venue during a big show.
-
Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
If you're feeling a little cheap, Tilted Kilt isn't a terrible option. Not the most inexpensive but decent bar food and drinks to boot. Better than garbage like Hard Rock Cafe.

Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
There's always Majerle's too. Coach and Willies is behind US Airways center. I always forget that's over there.
I miss the old dive I used to go to on Roosevelt with the purple pool tables before games.

Okay, I'll definitely plan on doing so. I don't care to pay for parking; I just want my car to be there after the show. Do you guys know if there will be beer, etc... at the show? I've never been to this venue.

Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
Thanks to everyone else who made recommendations. Page 120. Got it!

i generally search for open meters myself, there is no reason to pay for parking in arizona!!! if you get there early enough (but still after 5 or 6, whenever they stop charging), you can find meters a few blocks down. i also search west of US airways. my car is always there lol.
there will be beer at the show and food in several locations. i believe there are even bars with hard liquor, but i could be wrong. i think my dad and i stopped at one during the black keys. but it's a sports arena, so expect to pay sports arena prices.

Yes absolutely worth it. Mangum will sell out today. Crescent tweeted that there are not many tickets left.

I'm in the same boat. Not sure if I would attend the Rialto show if I couldn't get in for free...

Re: General Phoenix Area Shows
I'm not surprised. He probably could have played and sold out the Orpheum.

Ask him if he remembers drinking on an off-night in Vail, CO (late 90s) that led to everyone getting kicked out of the West Vail Lodge because someone pissed in the hotel lobby. He might not since Warsaw has had a bunch of rotating members around the Poland brothers.
