The Best Band Currently Making New Music

I've noticed a lot of polls for Best Band of, certain time period, genre, etc., but this is an important one. It doesn't involve that feeling you get when you start getting into a band that doesn't play live or make new music anymore, and half way into loving their second album you realize that you will never see them live, or hear any new music after plowing through their discography.

There are also a lot of variables here. I'm sure there are people who would like to see Arcade Fire in the running, but they have only made two albums, and can they really stand up against legends like REM or The Cure who have passed their prime, but are still releasing somewhat relevant music?

I almost started a poll on this, but I thought a discussion was in order since there are bound to be a ton I am forgetting. So who in your mind is the best (or some of the best) band(s) still making new music?

The one's that come to mind for me are Radiohead and Elbow.

Well it's true, they are the best.

I find it kind of hard to really and truly love a band that's not making music any more.

I guess part of the fun for me is following the arc, really, I'd rather have a great new album than an amazing back catalogue.

A back catalogue is all just one big body of music to me, rather than something that's progressing right now. Music that's happening and still happening, that's what makes me giddy.

Sometimes it's better to stop releasing music than it is to put out stinker after stinker.

They are close to perfect. Guy Garvey has an amazing voice and charming personality. Their arrangements and production are really impressive. They produce their own albums. Music worth swooning over.

Blackswan, if you haven't seen their performance of their latest album with the BBC concert orchestra and choir, make sure you do. It's on the box set that is coming out, and I downloaded a low-quality torrent of it. Can't wait for that box...

Hmmmmmmmmm............ BSP, they're good, and actually, I'd put them in the same breed of music as Elbow, but I never quite heard what other people were hearing that was so special.

I'm not really sure where to go with this, but just know that I have my reasons. I am unsure of your conception of my "board persona", but I'm not always abrasive, and when it comes down to it, I am unable to actually be myself here. I'm also grumpy since I don't live in England and my favorite bands don't like playing in the states.
