Re: The Official Metal Thread
Salah since this is the metal thread are you going to watch Tool? they really are one of the most captivating live bands ever
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
I'm most likely going to see Tool, yes. The biggest reason being practically everyone i'm going to be with will be at that show. Believe me this isnt an easy choice for me to make
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
Well at least you're making the right choice for once (musically at least) I'll be there and the drugs help make Tool a life changing show so you'll enjoy it
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
Sounds good, S. You know how to speak my language!

I just wanna say Mastodon's "Crack The Skye" is one of the best albums I've heard all year. Thank you.

it really is and it sounds so much better live than all their other material live
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
The Sword and Electric Wizard destroy my face.
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
I'm slowly getting to like Crack the Skye more and more. For some reason, I didn't really at first. But it's definitely good.

Re: The Official Metal Thread
last time we did this Randy came into the thread and started bashing every metal classic from the 80s. i remember there was like 3 pages of people trying to convince him Reign In Blood wasn't horrible.. i think he only liked St.Anger or something
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
I need to expand my metal library. Off the top of my head my metal includes Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Darkest Hour, Bleeding Through, Bury Your Dead, and some others I can't think of immediately.
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
i have lots to add to the metal thread but i'm really busy at work right now
i will say that Kyuss' "blues for the red sun" is a fucking classic album
EDIT: that was in response to pancakes
Dogvolta - i listen to most of that same stuff as well. I'm very exicted for new Darkest hour this year...heard that Devon Townsend isn't involved this time around, so i hope they're able to retain that sound
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
I remember loving this song and the album.

Seconded. BFTRS has some of their better songs but the guitar sound Homme gets on Sky Valley is just so fucking great. It's the best.
-
Re: The Official Metal Thread
Wavering Radiant is the first Isis album I've really enjoyed upon first listen. I think it's their best produced so far. Again... great guitar sounds on that one is what really draws me to it.
