What do you guys think? Which is overall better? (Yes, we are talking about computers here).
I have never used an apple but my work laptop is a Dell and I love this thing. If I ever get fired or something I will have to buy myself a new one.
I'm a proud and practicing Apple whore.
I'm going to kill you for opening this typhoon-can of shitworms
ive used an apple on occasion. pretty cool. but until they get a comparable CAD program, i cant make the switch.
ha ha ha ha, is this really a pole...? um, apple... hello!
I use an Apple G5 (w/23in display), all day at work for graphics, but I do like to get home an use my PC.
i have an apple at home and hate going to work and having to use a pc.
thats funny. makes sense though.
PC all the way.
similar-sounding but unrelated:
mackie or CV?
kidding. I'm high. sorry.
as much as i like CV, its Mackie all the way.
PC for me. I dont use any Apple products. Not even Ipods.
I've been debating this one for my next upgrade. I'm on my 3rd Dell at work and my first Dell at home (previously had a Gateway). Love, love, love them. If I do get another Dell, it won't be till the end of 09 of 10 for Windows 7. Will not spend my time on Vista.
I picked up a course catalog for Parsons last week. I looked up the various applications that were required for classes on Apple's website and downloaded the users guide to give me an idea of what to expect. I feel like I'm missing the boat on creating things with video and sound.
After using macs almost exclusively for six years, I was forced to go back to PC's because I couldn't afford a mac to replace my dead one, and, UGH! It's hell! Vista is the worst piece of shit since Windows ME.
I would love to be able to feel good about buying an apple product, but that went away with the first color imacs when I was in like grade six. I still have a pair of water damaged classic IIs in my basement somewhere. I also have an old IBM monochrome DOS machine. and the first 386 3.1 machine that I ever used e-mail on, back before you could do anything except e-mail...
I am predicting that within five years there will be a linux-based manufacturer. it's how these things work. then there'll be a new open source upstart
386, oh my. I'm having a flashback of Lotus, WYSIWYG, and Harvard Graphics.
In a dream world, I would like to own a mac that runs on windows and runs microsoft office and apple applications such as final cut pro, soundtrack pro, and abobe's line of products (illistrator, indesign, after effects, premiere).
lol PC. - HP to be exact. I love my laptop and just can't imagine myself buying any Apple Products
Both have their place in the market. PCs are more practical by a wide margin.
I'm not to much of a gamer, but I love my music and film.
Since i've switched to apple, I've never gone back. A few times at PC clubs to play some games with friends, but that's about it.
apple is damn sexy.
dell and friends are wack.
its like comparing a bmw to some fugly american economy car
I would like a mac for music and video editing but since i'm on a student budget i'm all about my toshiba.
I will not vote b/c dell is explicitly named.
At work I use a G4 for graphic design. At home I have the an ATX tower that I have been upgrading parts in for about six years for graphic design, gaming, home theatre, and musick. I like the freedom to upgrade at my leisure and besides the G4's spinning beach ball of death and crashing of InDesign gets really annoying.
Vista blows donkey balls in a dark alley.
I just received my Dell laptop back from someone at work who took almost 2 months to repair it. I wasn't able to complain since he fixed it for almost free. I am currently working on finalizing a music project.
Someone in our IS group mentioned that the entire company will be switching over from Dell to HP. An entire group of people have been working on creating our own bios. Can you imagine our IS guys calling for service which should be covered under warranty and in the same sentence say, "oh yeah by the way, it's running on our own custom bios!"? Yeah, they're really going to be supporting us.
