...Fucking hell... Now my Sat. is even more fucked up.
Now they'll probably conflict with Portishead or DCFC, and I won't have to worry about getting into Spiritualized.
I kind of do hope they conflict with Portishead, because that would mean a smaller audience at their set.
I doubt they will though...you know why...because I am listing Portishead and Spiritualized as my #1 and #2 that I want to see on Sat. on my microcommunity profile.
They'll probably be put up against Death Cab at Sunset.
I'd still go see Spiritualized.
me two.
Now that I know Spiritualized is playing Santa Barbara two days before Coachella, I'll see them there and eliminate one potential conflict for the weekend.
They'll play the same set, so that's probably a wise choice.
if Spiritualized conflict with any of my other essential acts I'd be tempted to drive via santa barbara to see them beforehand. coming from SF that's a hell of a detour, but I will be really pissed if I miss this.
on another note, I had to go to four record stores to find a copy of Lazer Guided Melodies today. rasputin didn't have it, amoeba didn't have it, streetlight didn't, but virgin had a single copy. I noticed a general lack of spiritualized cds across the city actually. nobody had any copies of either volume of the complete works either. still, I got LGM and Floating in Space, so I am happy. for now. :-)
I think Complete Works aren't currently in print. The second one isn't necessary, but the first one is pure gold.
This is an AMAZING video:

TL;DW: Fuck you. Watch it.
That video has a trailer. I love everything.
I don't want those images associated with the song in my head, I stopped watching after a few seconds when it premiered a few weeks ago.
That video is incredible. Disassociate and watch because it is crazy as all hell... I watched it a while back and I don't associate the song with the video; it's a film unto itself.
Man, this thread shows how badly off everybody but Lee was in set time predictions 4 years ago.
That video is ace and the song is awesome. So glad I've got tickets to see Spiritualized later this year.
Actually Lee was off with everybody else. He had them as a Ridiculous Sunset Prediction for the Coachella stage:
MMJ did go into RW but Lee later switched L&R and MMJ in his predictions.
You may have been fooled by this
But I am convinced that he meant The Streets, not Spiritualized.
OF COURSE I MEANT SPIRITUALIZED WAS GOING TO BE IN THE SPOT THEY ENDED UP BEING IN, GUYS. WHAT DO YOU THINK I AM, STUPID?

Spiritualized's new album is on NPR's stream.
Anyone listen yet? I'm on I Am What I Am, which is a great burner of a track. The stream quality is really bad, but I've enjoyed most of it. Little Girl could be an ELO track. I think I like that.
Just finished. I really liked it, but I can't wait to actually be able to hear it.
Gah I think I'll just wait for a proper rip then.
Same here, but now I'm very excited about it.
I'm digging this album!
Caved and am at the end of my first listen. Definitely need to listen lots more, but my initial impression is that it's not far off the beaten path and pretty much what I'd expect from Jason and co. at this point, and that's not a bad thing.
Streams can work for some records. Spiritualized is all about maximalism, and that just does not translate well.
good album. better than the last one.
