I was reading an article about how Paul Tollett and L.A. concert promoter Goldenvoice were contemplating an all Latin music festival when they were considering the Stagecoach idea. I think this would be an awesome day(s) and would bring out more people than came to the Stagecoach shows. There are about 10 latin music stations in the greater LA Area that would promote it for sure.

Imagine if they had on the mainstage...

Vicente Fernandez
Menudo reunion (half joking)
Lupillo Rivera
Juanes
Pepe Aguilar
Mana
Manu chao
Los Lobos

On the Second Stage...

Plastilina mosh
Julieta Venegas
Cafe Tabuba
Molotov
Rodrigo & Gabriela
Los Amigos Invisibles
Ozomotli
Aterciopelados

In Sahara...

Kinky
Brazilian Girls
Soda Stereo
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs
Manic Hispanic
Nortec Collective

In Mojave...

Los Tigres del Norte
Los Tucanes
Paquita
Grupo Bryndis
Los Temerarios
Los Horóscopos de Durango

In Gobi...

Benny Blanco
Bimbo
Boricua Boys
Daddy Yankee
Don Omar
Wisin y Yandel
Calle 13

You're thoughts? I'd be there!

If it would keep Manu Chao off the Coachella bill, I am all for it.

I think we all agree we can do without the nortenas, rancheras, regional, banda or whatever they call it, and reggeton, yuck! No thanks

that is a horrible linup.... I think something like the lineup in the vive latino festival or what it was the wacha tour would be a lot better

No, because I honestly don't like Latin music.

i would go but it has to be have that coachella feel and with lots of reunions. for example, a Soda Stereo or Mano Negra (with full band) would be great.

there's so many great latino/spanish bands that it would be a success.

I'd go.

You gotta have Ricky Martin in there - cheesy, yes - but he throws a fucking party on stage.

Also add Pacha Massive, they are really good.

Have you been watching MTVtres?

Definately would sell more than Stagecoach but the lineup would need more variety of latin music like uh maybe Los Lonely Boys, um throw in some older acts, also legends like Santana, also some tex-mex. Im a local, and here in the Coachella Valley alone they'd sell like oh i dunno 20,000 tickets or so maybe more.

Shortly after returning from Stagecoach Festival,, (which was the best time I've had in a decades) (I can't wait till stagecoach 2008,,,),,,, I was thinking that there should be a Latin music and arts festival at Coachella even though I don't speak a word of Spanish or Portuguese. I listen to Latin and Mexican music all the time even though I don't understand the words. I love most all kinds of music. Other types of large music festivals should be held at Coachella as well if they could be at least financed and/or profitable. Maybe, all different kinds of European or Asian or African music, etc. I would want to go to all of them.

I'd try to catch maybe one Latin artist at '08, just to try something different.

I think there's enough Latin music at Coachella as it is, and it's been increasing every year. The diversity of lineups is the key at Coachella; over spluring one genera would defeat the purpose.

latin music is not a "genre." it's simply music in a different language. you can have a latin coachella that is amazingly diverse. i wouldn't go to it, though i'm sure many many people would.

You are completely correct, I'm from the north and I hate the music here, rancheras and all that.

The Vive Latino is amazing, I adore it i've been 3 times, 2005, 06 and 07

I've loved them all.

Where is Heroes Del Silencio? Mana is getting weaker as the years go by! They cater to women and the romantics! Hombres G where are they? Soda Estereo where are they? There is too much Tex Mex Flavor Paquita? WTF You must be on crack with a shitty lineup like that!
