Was it just me or did anyone else not make it all day. Come time for the headliners every night I couldn't stand anymore.

Sunday was the only day I was alive for headliners and that was because I was taking it super easy.

I was dead tired for the Gogol Bordello Friday, but decided I would tough it and go on in anyways. The second they hit the stage, I had a sudden rush of energy and it was the most awake I had been all day.
Saturday, after RHCP, I was fine but starting to get dozy. I checked out the Black Keys, then The Rapture and by the time I wandered over to The Good The Bad and The Queen, I was pretty tired. I only stayed for 3 GBATQ songs, because as much as I love their music, it was putting me to sleep. So I left before the end of the set. The only thing keeping me from falling alseep was Paul Simonon creeping around the stage withe the bass. It made me laugh.
I was full of energy all Sunday. Nothing was gonna bring me down. Until I got dehydrated in the Rage pit and dislocated my thumb. Even then, I still watched Rages entire set!

Ditto

Saturday night I went to bed around 10:30 and slept solid until about 7:30. Yay earplugs.

My back was so knotted each day that I had a hard time reaching down to pick up my backpack but I never left early. I just sucked it up.

I'm on my feet all day at work (retail), so it wasn't a big change for me. Was there from start to finish every day.

Last year it was like that. I was exhausted by Daft Punk and left before Tool came on. I didn't get as tired this year.

i got to the festival (inside.. not parking...)

-at 4pm on friday and stayed till it ended.

- at about 7:30fuckingpm on saturday because it took almost 3 hours to park. stayed till about 11pm

- about 4:30pm on sunday and stayed till about 11:30pm

but both of the days we were there 7-8 hours we were both fine. i mean, my legs were a little tired and my allergies were killing me, but otherwise it wasn't too bad.

i contribute that to the fact that we stayed in a condo (meaning we got more rest than most campers) and we got there no earlier than 4pm, meaning the sun had less time to completely suck the energy out of us.

The advantages of working 12hr shifts is that I'm able for long days like this. I don't know how some of you partied thru the night afterwards though; I went straight to bed.

We didn't even go in until about 4pm on Sunday. We meant to take a small nap after breakfast that morning, but it turned into a 3 hour epic event. As soon as we got back to the hotel each night I promptly passed out (after scrubbing the 10 layers of sweat and sunscreen off.)

I didn't go in early, nor did I necessarily stay until the end. I saw who I wanted to see then I was out.

After staying from 12 - 12 on Friday, we learned our lesson. Since we were camping, we could either:

be miserable all afternoon in the campgound, then go into the festival for the later afternon hours til the end
try going into the festival grounds at noon, again
or drive over to palm springs for a nice lunch and a movie, then enter the festival grounds in the late afternoon

After the mistake we made on Friday, we opted for choice #3 for Sat & Sun. It prevented us from coming home looking like lobsters as well. By the way, there's a great mexican restaurant (one among many) in the old town section of palm springs that many other festival goers seemed to have discovered.

We went in right when it opened all 3 days, but on Saturday, we left early. Couldn't handle it anymore, and I wasn't really into any Saturday bands. I made it all the way through on Friday and Sunday though.

Friday after traffic we got in around 2 and stayed til almost the very end.
Saturday we came at 4 -- it was a lighter day and we wanted to make sure we could last for all of sunday -- we left around 11.
Sunday my friend had to do an interview so we had to be there at 2pm and stayed to the end.

On Saturday and Sunday we were fine til the end (though we did leave right after Rage to beat the traffic) but Friday was different. We got there at 2pm and enjoyed the whole day. then we went to the front of the main stage super early so we could stay there for Interpol and Bjork. But during Bjork I had a sensory overload...

1. I've wanted to see her all my life so I was really excited.
2. I'd been standing in the same spot for over 3 hours and had developed blisters that I felt pop and bleed..
3. This extremely large, very sweaty girl behind me kept putting her arm around me and caressing my shoulder (despite the fact that I was there holding hands with my fiance.) So when I shook her arm off, she rubbed down my back and grabbed a handful of my asscheek and shook it... I looked back in horror to see her batting her eyes and biting her lip. yeeeeeesh.. my fiance end up saying "what the fuck!?!?!" really loud so she'd hear her and stop.
4. some douchebag was to my left. he decided that even though there was no way in hell he was getting up to the rail (we were both about 3 people from the rail, but it was tight in there, no one was getting through) he still reached through the crowd and grabbed the rail, pushing my shoulder and turning me to where I was facing right in the process, and stayed there, with his bulbous boney elbow digging into my back... and as fate would have it, he was pushing that fucking elbow right on my spine where I'd fractured my spine 4 years ago. it still hurts when there's pressure on it, so of course this happened to me.
5. I'm clostrophobic (a bit). it usually doesn't bother me at concerts, but the horny girl and my back breaking made it a lot worse.

so at that point I turned to my fiance and said "I'm getting the fuck out of here." I had security pull me over the rail. they couldn't lift me quite right and I flipped over and fell on my back only to look up and see my goofy ass on the telepromter.

luckily my fiance was great about it and said she couldnt see anything anyway. I love her.

by the way, if you haven't heard it yet, i posted somewhere else how during this night, during interpol, my fiance got mad cause some chick was sitting on the rail in the VIP section doing her makeup and taking pictures of herself, totally blocking our view. so she threw her empty water bottles at her head. when she turned around to look at us, it was fucking Paris Hilton!! people were screaming at her "they want you to move your fat fucking head, bitch!" and with that, she got down and left. HAHAHA

Lake Chacuilla has a swimming pool. While all of you fools were wasting energy in the sun early at the festival. I was swimming in ice cold water. I was actually shivering from the cold when the wind blew. It was nice. We went to the festival after that. We were able to stay until the end and then party after the festival every night.
