That is me. I think he was talking on the phone. all of us were in the middle on the bottom floor, then moved up to the elevated bar area, so that was me coming in from having a smoke.

And no, i dont wear those shitty glasses, got them on a cruise to mexico this weekend, was rolling, and thought they would be fun. Really put a linear perspective on things...

I saw some kid with a pair, and said nice shades, this little fuck (in white ones said), "yeah, but mine are the real thing, they were $200 from paris. "wow, thats horrible. have a good show."

thanks man, which one is the best.

None are really long, so try em all. First one is DANCE to DVNO, second one is DVNO, third is a clip with the marshalls lighting up. 4th is Stress build up section. Last one is Phantom part 2. The bass killed, you can hear it, cause it was pushign air so the mic on my cam distorts a lil.

from the videos it looks much better than the mstrkrft show at the fonda. mstr were just sloppy that night and they looked really bored during their set.

Saw digitalism last night, I thought they did a really good set. Live too! No really live. They made even their most uninteresting songs entertaining.

I saw some kid with a pair, and said nice shades, this little fuck (in white ones said), "yeah, but mine are the real thing, they were $200 from paris. "wow, thats horrible. have a good show."

lol, what a fucktard. The first rule of fashion is that once your shit starts getting knocked off (and those sunglasses have been getting knocked off like crazy for months now), it doesn't matter whether yours is the real deal or not, they might as well be fake. He's an idiot for feeling superior wasting $200 on some trendy pair of sunglasses that he's only going to wear a handful of times, when he could've gotten them for $20 and not wasted his trust fund $$$. Also, Paris? Those sunnies are fucking Jeremy Scott, he could've gotten them in Beverly Hills.

I hate kids like that. Same with everyone wearing Ray Bans these days (isn't that trend over by now?) and somehow feeling superior because they're wearing the same exact sunglasses as everyone else in the same exact design, except theirs say Ray Ban on them in tiny letters.

I was standing to the left of the sound booth leaning on the glass, had a great view from there. I thought guns and bombs set was just ok, nothing special. I dont really blame him though, I mean they had most of the curtain closed and no lighting so it was just a minimal set.

I ran into these guys I craigslisted two mstrkrft tix to at the el rey show last night. That was kinda funny not funny haha though.

MSTRKRFT at the Fonda earlier this month was RIDICULOUS. There were maybe 10 people over 21 (we were 5 of them)...

It was sort of depressing, all these 13 year olds (we actually asked their age) were rolling face everywhere.

I KNOW those glasses suck ass. I got them free on a cruise this weekend and thought they were just retarded enough to rock, but they were horrible to look out of. What can i say? I love gimmicks while rolling.

I did however see a kid there with some white ones on, jokingly said "nice shades," and he told me he "paid $200, they're real, and from Paris."

"God, that is fucking horrible. Enjoy the show."

At the last Justice show in Vancouver in October, there was a huge line way before doors opened. This time, there was barely a line at all. Which I found weird... considering the last show didn't sell out until about a month before hand. And this show, sold out almost instantly.

yea, going early to get a ticket is understandable. going early just to wait in line all day so you can be the first person inside is just sad. there are way more things id rather do before a show than sit in line for hours.

ThomThom
04-03-2008, 09:08 AM
I typically only skip openers if I need to drink before the actual show (a very economical approach), I was unable to get off of work early, or I have no interest in seeing the opener. I almost never wait in line all day to be upfront for a GA show, fucking useless.

Tally Hoe -

Back to this topic for a bit: I just went back and reread Busy P's initial post (on the Ed Banger Lover and Haters...thread), and noticed that it will be a new set. I don't see why he would post this knowing damn well their myspace tour would be taking place.

Do you think it will be even different from their current tour? It would seem that a lot of people (via youtube, being there, etc) would already be familiar with this.

1) Is there another level they can take it?

2) Even more new material that they havent incorporated into their current set?

3) MOST IMPORTANTLY: A LIVE set...?

Do it.

I dont think they need to prove anything in regards to DP, thats a stupid way to look at it. They hppefulyl have a different stage set up and throw in some other things with what has been done on the myspace tour and it shoudl be great. i have no basis for this claim. but i think gaspard is more the guy who fleshes out the song ideas and then xavier comes back and does all these cool little tweaks that make them exciting. so hence why xavier is the busier one live. but gaspard is fucking awesome dont kid yourself.

For those of you who haven't heard Xavier actually playing bass (Other than the album, which they keep saying the bass is mostly Garageband Samples, but I digress,) Here is the video for "Disco Sirens," by Midfield General featuring Vila from The Bumblebeez on vocals, Xavier De Rosnay from Justice on bass & drums and mixed by Soulwax.

So does anybody know if the Street Scene set will be live or dj?

And I've been told a million times but always forget: Live is when it's improv right? Like the clips where I've seen them mix House of Pain- Jump into Daft - Da Funk? And dj is when they have a pre-determined set of only their own tracks?

Thx.

Actually, you have it exactly backwards. "Live" is considered the pre-determined set of their own tracks, mildly reworked on the spot here and there (They use Ableton to do such a thing). DJ sets are when they, well DJ, playing all kinds of stuff, and yeah, mix one song into another like you said.
I'm almost positive street scene will be live.

Same thing used at the grammys, and in the pyramid as well. Many people are starting to use them, as, well, you can just do so much. The GUI is completely customizable, you can program them to do almost anything sound or effect wise.

I'm excited for Street Scene and HARD.
I will have seen Justice 5 times in one year. (woah)

ha ha.. i know exactly how you feel.. I remember the buzz before their
2007 coachella appearance.. they sounded so damn good when they played on Sat. night.. then when someone leaked the album during summer 2007.. I got some good mileage out of that..
I was at bassbintwins and dj craze a few weeks ago and bassbin remixed 'we are your friends' and everyone yawned.. but we were at the Mnt. OK, so yeah, I just went to thier myspace for fun, I've already heard the MGMT remix and I like it alot. Much more than Soulwax's remix of Kids, but anyhoo..I noticed they have 4 "PLANISPHERE" tracks.

Why isnt anyone talking about them???

I mean fuck, its not exactly a step in a new direction for them, but it's also not exactly more of the same either. These are pretty good tracks and quite refreshing. I mean I wouldnt be surprised if I get burnt out on them in a couple weeks, but I still wanted to bring it to everyones attention.

Go to their myspace and check out the planisphere tracks, and post your comments.

Their set was damn good times. I thought they cleaned things up a bit since coachella...a lot more fluidity.

Seeing them always wins over not seeing them. it was awesome to get some dancing out of my system...it had been a while.

I think Justice has had their moments of greatness.. regardless of all the hype and overexposure that they get these days.. the mgmt mix was fun for like one day.. I'm getting tired of the slap bass signature sound in all of their mixes.. it got old after LoveStoned. will definitely check out their new stuff.. would i go see them if they were coming to my town.. hell yeah.. this was one of my favorite sets at coachella 2007..

Yeah, tickets went on sale yesterday actually. They are playing the WaMu theatre, where Daft Punk played. They are $35 before charges... so kind of expensive... but most NYE events are. Plus its Ghostland and its gonna be more awesome than anything going on in Vancouver.

Xavier and Mehdi did a DJ set after their show in Orlando which was pretty sweet.
I remember it being odd (in a good way) to dance to Amy Winehouses BACK TO BLACK (not even a remix or anything, the original version), in between dancy shit like Kylie Minogue and Daft Punk.

And for the life of me, i can't remember some old tv show theme they mixed in too. I wanna say it was a black show or something....70s or 80s...oh well :)
