It's only 9:15 am in Palm Springs - and already 101 degrees. It's gonna be 114 today, 107 at NASCAR in Fontana, & even 106 in Burbank. I'm glad Coachella Fest during the cooler time of year.

I noticed the temperature really doesn't matter that much. It's being in the sun that's hell. It can be 90 or 110 degrees and you're going to want to die of the sun is cruelly atomizing your face.

gaypalmsprings
09-01-2007, 01:27 PM
2:25 pm & it's 114 AND SUNNY

It was over 100 at my work today and easily that here too. Worst was 108 at my job on Thursday with a ''feels like'' temp of 112. 103 here though and that was murder.

it's 99 here (11:28am) and it feels like its too damn hot for me to leave my apt. which irritates me because I want to go shopping for a new couch.

there were times I felt like I was on a survival mission last year at coachella, i can't imagine the temps you guys are talking about...

It was 35 degrees here this morning, and it felt about like 32 due to dew in the air.

I love this time of year. So crisp. I'd only enjoy it more if it didn't indicate that 40 below is just around the corner.

Heat wave's going to break on Tuesday, thank god, 'cause I'll be goddamned if I start work in that kind of heat.

it was 94 degrees here today in newport beach! it wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that pretty much none of the homes around here have a/c, including us. the average temp here in the summer is probably mid to high 70's, so we are out of our element quite a bit.

today i went to long beach on the metro train thingy. i thought i would be escaping the heat. HA HA. it was not as hot there but it was VERY hot. I suspect hotter than the locals were used to. I was dripping. even next to the ocean.

it is 9:45pm and 92 degrees according to weather.com

fatbastard

It's 89 outside right now but a cool 88 in the house.

In Torrance, CA it's now 83 degrees outside and 85 inside the house. It's finally cooling down a bit; it was about 90 inside earlier.

1.5 miles from the beach, and most people don't have air conditioning.

3 fans in my room, and all it does is move the air around. The humidity is reported as 49% but it feels muggy.

Ha! I work in Long Beach, and the weather there is very hard to predict. It was close to 100 earlier, when it wasn't hot yet at home, but it wasn't so bad on Friday when it was hot at home. Weird.

I hate it when people say its a "diffrent kinda" heat.
I can't tell a diffrence. Hot is Hot!

have you been back east or to the mid west in the middle of summer? try it and let me know if you notice a different kind of heat. dry heat is much better than that humid heat they get.

That's so true. Dry heat > humidity.

That's so true. Dry heat > humidity.

I agree. The humidity in Chicago is suffocating! But hot is still hot.
High threshold for pain- but low threshold for high temps!

Yeah that dry heat can kill you.

captncrzy
09-08-2007, 08:49 AM
The difference between the dry heat and the humidity is the ability to escape it....even sitting in the shade in dry heat takes several degrees off the temperature. Humidity is inescapable-even inside.
